Chisaki shrugged.

"No. I do not have a boyfriend. Christmas is not the same in this country as it is in others. It is more like Valentines in your countries I guess.

But that is why we were so busy today. Even Kiki helps out during Christmas."

"Begrudgingly." She adds from the peanut gallery.

Basil didn't hate Chisaki persay, but he was not her biggest fan.

As such he let himself be a snuggle-buddy and enjoyed Colette's extra attention, but kept silent.

"Well, we ARE roommates, I suppose I could always share. I zink I may even have a bow left over from my wrapping."

"No." Basil said abruptly.

"No thank you." Chisaki replied, speaking over Basil's own protest. The look on her face seemed... disgusted? Maybe she didn't like boys?

"Oh well, more for me zen." Colette either didn't notice the change in mood between the two.

"Chisaki-san, I simply had to call you and zank you for ze wonderful gift. You were really too kind."

"You are welcome.

Toshiro and Trevor-senpai said I have to apologize and return your genetic material.

I was going to destroy it."

"Well, zey are not wrong... but zis surprise was worz it."

"Good! I am glad you like it. If it gives you any issues you should let me know."

"Of course! I am happy to be your little guinea fowl. Zis is an incredible zing Chisaki-san, for people ozer zan myself. I will do my best to put it to ze test.

"Did you like ze cookies I made? I could not find any Matcha to flavour ze butter cookies so I had to use regular green tea. And I had never made daifuku before. I hope zat zey were alright."

Basil hadn't been the only one Colette had baked for. Most of her friends and people she knew she had made a little something, even if it was just the French Christmas cookies and meringues like she had baked with Basil. But for some students she had tried to make something based on their culture and then included a few from her own as well.

"Yes, everything was good."

"She did not share." The still present adult commented in deadpan.

"Because it was mine!"

"Awww. Well if I had known I would have included a few extra cookies, just in case."

"She just wants to pick on me. There is no pleasing."

"Zen she sounds more like a sister zan a cousin."

"Worst. Nee-san. Ever."

"Aww, now I know zat you do not mean zat."

Chisaki pouted for several moments, until the need to yawn overwhelmed her and she did so.

"Sorry."

"Oh no, do not let me keep you up. Go to bed you sleepy bunny."

"Okay. I will see you soon!" She stated back, and waved, then disconnected the call.

Once she was gone, Basil finally spoke up again.

"I don't want to be lent out to anyone." He states with very clear finality.

Colette looked over to Basil before setting the tablet aside, speaking to him softly. "Oh Basil, I did not mean it."

"Good." There seemed to be some kind of tension in his voice about this topic and he shifted uncomfortably.

Colette gently placed a hand on Basil's chest.

"Did I make zat comment in poor taste? If so I am sorry Basil."

"I just... I don't like being shared." Basil answered.

Colette gently rubbed her hand over Basil's chest as she listened.

"Zen I promise zat I will not do zat. Nor will I make such a joke again in ze future.

"... do you want to talk about it?"

There was a long pause as he considered it.

"No. I've already spoiled Christmas enough I think."

Colette raised her hand to rub against Basil's cheek.

"You have spoiled nozing Basil. Zis has been ze best Christmas I have enjoyed since I was a little girl."

"I bet the bike you got was wicked sweet." He joked, his hand coming up to pet her on the back of the head.

"Happy Christmas, Madame Rosenhof."

Colette snuggled into Basil's shoulder, smiling up at him as she settled in.

"Happy Christmas, monsieur Benson."
