[Plot] Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through

"Jesus fucking Christ, all that noise and fucking *nothing*?" she huffed.

Haley tried to give her TK a tentative test to see if it was gone along with her telepathy.

Leo likewise held his ears, the motion making his wound bleed again.

[Narrator]

And so it was! In it's stead she fires off another blast that obliterates a good chunk of a nearby concession booth. At least it had already been severely damage by the general panic and mayhem, but now a third of it is just straight up missing.

“Holy shit!” she yelped, recoiling from the destruction, and once again trying to point her hands straight down to avoid taking anything or anyone out that didn’t deserve it.”

“I uh. May be more of a liability than a help, Sam!”

[Will Stanton]

Sam's!Will covered his head somewhat from Haley Wrecking Shit Up, and moved a little bit to place Sam between him and the chaos. Not being made of clay anymore, he was vulnerable!

[Tereza Rozanov]

Now that the noise has stopped, Tereza moves up taking up a protective position near Sam and Sam!Will. "You okay?"

[Will Stanton]

"Keep your distance," Will said, almost too softly to be heard. "Things are...wrong."

He ran his hands through his brown hair, keeping them as far clear as he could from both Sam and Tereza.

[Leo Eskandari]

Leo tore the already ruined sleeve from his shirt to use as a makeshift bandage.

"If you guys have things settled here, I've got a boyfriend to locate."

He headed back the way he had come, hoping Ainsley was okay and hadn't gotten hit with the mutation beam.

[Samantha McManus]

Sam grits her teeth, frustrated by Conduit getting away. She lets out a breath.

"...we need to regroup, let people get the help they need."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"If you're okay, I'll go find Viv," Tereza says, glancing at Sam.

[Samantha McManus]

"I'll be fine. Make sure she's alright."

[Haley Crusek]

“Anyone have any bright ideas on how I can move without destroying everything?”

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza nods at Sam and takes off at a run towards the stage.

[Will Stanton]

“Anyone have any bright ideas on how I can move without destroying everything?”

"Just try to....not use your power?" Bass!Will suggested. "Until we can get you to a danger room, where the things you destroy aren't quite so permanent?"

"Or are you having trouble shutting it off entirely?"

[Will Stanton]

"I'll be fine. Make sure she's alright."

"'I'll be fine' implying you're not now, but are coping?" Will asked, still keeping his hands behind his back.

[Samantha McManus]

"Well, I want to break something or hurt someone."

"Not the time, though."

[Will Stanton]

"Back home, where we can fix things," Will nodded. "The danger room."

He looked around, at the damage to the arch, and the damage to the people.

"I...may be needed here," he mused, slowly approaching the damaged monument.

“Anyone have any bright ideas on how I can move without destroying everything?”

"Just try to....not use your power?" Bass!Will suggested. "Until we can get you to a danger room, where the things you destroy aren't quite so permanent?"

"Or are you having trouble shutting it off entirely?"

“The latter,” she said, nodding her head down towards her hands glowing at her sides, palms facing the ground. “Like. I can sort of hold it, here and I think I’ll be okay, but this is sort of like holding a fart in during a sneezing fit, eventually the fart is going to get out.”

[Samantha McManus]

"Think you can... fill in the cracks?" Sam arches a brow.

[Will Stanton]

"No," Will said, shaking his head. "I can't."

"But I can feel them..." he said, hesitating, before placing his hands on the arch.

For a moment, nothing happened as Will closed his eyes. But after a moment, the arch itself started quivering and flexing, much like Will did when he shifted. The brown-haired boy focused, as the arch began to shift and twist, repairing itself before everyone's eyes.

[Shane Marsh]

"Bloody hell..." Shane said, clearly impressed.

Wish I could fix the grass that way.

[Will Stanton]

"Bloody hell indeed," Will said, putting his hands back into his pockets. "This is...very strange."

[Will Stanton]

“The latter,” she said, nodding her head down towards her hands glowing at her sides, palms facing the ground. “Like. I can sort of hold it, here and I think I’ll be okay, but this is sort of like holding a fart in during a sneezing fit, eventually the fart is going to get out.”

"Ah, hell," Bass!Will said, frowning. "I'm no good at this sort of thing. Uh...is this a 'don't think about rainbows' sort of moment?"

[Samantha McManus]

"...suppose you're not going to want to go back into the mirror after all this."

[Narrator]

As everyone is calming down, looking out for loved ones and the situation just generally calms down, X-Corp finally arrives on scene along with regular emergency services to take care of the wounded and handle new mutants still struggling controlling their new-found powers.

[Will Stanton]

"...suppose you're not going to want to go back into the mirror after all this."

Will shook his head. "That's not it.

I'm not clay anymore. Instead, it's like... like everything around here is clay, and I'm the sculptor. I can feel the potential in the arch, in the grass, in that litter over there...in you and Shane and everything around me.

I don't know what happens if I go in the mirror. It might be like if you or Tereza were to go in; fine for a little while, but not good if you stayed forever.

All in favor of wringing Conduit's neck?" he groused, a little bit.

[Samantha McManus]

"I might be able to put you back the way you ought to be. If you wanted."

"It's just likely to be difficult, messy, and I might have to kill you."

"Again."

[Will Stanton]

"You get your kicks from doing that, don't you?" Will said, trying to make a joke. "And here I made your ass look so good."

[Samantha McManus]

"Truth told, I'm not so eager to do that last part even if you were proper clay right now."

"Tends to... attract attention."

[Will Stanton]

"Attention?" Will asked. "Attention from whom?"

[Samantha McManus]

"There's a lot going on at the boundary between life and death. I'm not the scariest thing flying around out there."

[Will Stanton]

"Well, if you think murder is a bad idea, then it's probably a bad idea," Will said, trying to force a laugh.

"Maybe this will wear off on its own. Or maybe I can like, drain it out or something."
