[Activity] Festival of the Atom

Located on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. The low-income borough of Lambeth has been largely taken over by London's mutant population and is now known as Mutant Town.

Ainsley Green wrote:"The crumb-crunchers and you, Tiger." Ainsley replied, shrugging off Leo's nervousness as he took up his seat at a gun.

Taking a seat as well, he said, "Pride cometh before the fall."

"Everybody ready? Good! Aaaand... go!" the game operator announced with a hand chop gesture.

Leo lost a second fumbling with the trigger. Stupid hand-paws.

Ainsley was actually a pretty good shot and had an incredibly steady hand... but clearly, only when compared to other mundanes since this was very much not his mutation.

It apparently wasn't any of the other players mutation either, as Ainsley won. One of the children almost had him through.

Leo was a distant third. "Stupid monster hands," he grumbled.

He briefly considered saying something sappy but thought better of it. It wasn't really his style.

"I won't flip the proverbial table either," he promised.

The second game went better for the big gu. He stayed neck and neck with Ainsley the whole time. The winner was going to be decided at the very last second.

He just smiled and took his boyfriend's hand as they walked.

They soon reached the market area. The crowd there consisted of few children and none of the constant noise of the various carnival games. While that isn't to say the market is remotely quiet, it was certainly easier to hear over. Conveniently, yhe DIY craft stalls were located nearest the cross-path they took to reach the market.

Ainsley was gone for some time, but he finally tracked down Leo after what seemed like forever.

He held out the product of his labour, a simple clay trinket dish for Leo to keep his bric-a-brac in. Tie bars and cuff links and whatever else fancy lads who didn't wear nothing but hoodies and jeans wore.

Leo had been eyeing a stall selling men's hair accessories, such as engraved metal hair beads.

"Exactly," he grinned, picking out a few intricate Celtic designs. A few of both small and large for proper experimentation. There was even a Celtic cross that was turned 45 degrees to resemble an X-Men symbol.

Paying the merchant, he said, "Do we have much time left before we meet up with your friends?"

"Oh yeah, I'm gonna have to take you to Vegas." Jez smirked. "And just like in Vegas, you gotta know how to play the odds."

There wasn't a rule that specified that you could only throw one ball at a time, and technically two Jez's were still the same contestant.By managing to throw two balls in quick succession at a time the girl managed to knock three coconuts from their perches. The attendant working the stand didn't even look upset over it, either impressed with Jez's power display, or secure in the knowledge that her two tickets had paid for even the deluxe prize that she was presented.

"Hey! I won you a coconut!" The girl beamed, presenting the stuffed orb to her masked girlfriend.
