Colette looked back at Jessica, but couldn't think of a single thing to say. She could offer nothing that would console the woman, and even if she did it wouldn't have been accepted. She had to accept that no matter what happened from, the rift that had formed between them over the months would never be bridged or even decreased in size. And that gave her a lot to think about when it came to Basil. But first they had to get the boy back. The pink girl gathered her things and got out of her seat without a word, and clacked back toward the stairs.

Diego started the car and drove to meet them. When he could, he got to work finding the current employment of those on the list.

By the time the trio made it back to the car, Diego would have been able to determine via internet searches that all were in private practice except one.

Whitehall was an employee of a place called the Center for Research of The Uniquely Abled.

"Oh my god... that's the totally sus place I couldn't remember. What are the odds?" he said to himself as they got in.

"Hey guys. Yeah, one works for a mutant clinic. Definitely worth a closer look."

Colette got into the car and shivered. "Eugh, je me sens sale."

Though she got back into the real world with Diego's comment. "A... mutant clinic?" She could think of two ways that could be interpreted, and one was more pleasant than the other. Unfortunately, the unpleasant one was the one more likely to be connected to Basil. "Zen zat should be our top priority, yes?"

"Agreed.

Do we need an appointment to tour the facilities?"

Diego checked his phone.

"Yes. Can make one online. Better use fake names since two of us are known X-Men. Well, more Chase than me. I haven't really done a lot. But neither of us has had much media attention, so that's good."

The quickest Diego seemed to be capable of getting them in for a tour was a couple days off. For a health facility that was quite good.

Colette fidgeted. Still so much waiting, and for a POTENTIAL lead. It felt like every time they got close they'd just cleared the crest of one wave to see the next one looming ahead.

"Zen... I suppose zere is nozing to do but go back to ze house and rest, and prepare ourselves."

"Yes." Chisaki replied, sounding a bit down herself. She didn't know what to do to console her friend right now. She hadn't really had any before.

"I can make you hot chocolate, like Eddie-kun makes it for me." She offered.

Colette almost snorted, softly shaking her head. "You are ze guests, I should be waiting upon you."

"We are not guests Colette." Chisaki admonished in her gentle way. " You are in pain. The quicker you stop pretending this is okay, the quicker you can get past that it has happened and get towards resolving it."

Chisaki was silent, deciding what she was thinking was better left unsaid.

"Let's go back to the apartment."
