Miscreant

Located on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. The low-income borough of Lambeth has been largely taken over by London's mutant population and is now known as Mutant Town.

Alice eagerly took the bank note with a wide smile and stuffed it into her little half-waist apron, showing no intentions of making change. "Just for the cute ones. "No harm, I suppose."
Basil Benson wrote:'Cheshire' casually halted his display, crossing his legs one over the other to talk shop. His obligation to be on stage was nearly up, and these two were the only people biting tonight.

"I believe my male identity and ego make me nothing so rare, but I appreciate the compliment. It does make a boy feel special to be seen."

"Comparing him to a horse already?" Jez teased Sam, getting a bit closer to the taller woman before looking back at Cheshire.

The song changed and the stage door opened to allow Cheshire free of his obligations. As he stepped from from the stage, he was routing around in his trousers for something. As he approached the two women, he clipped one end of a chain leash onto the ring of his collar, holding out the handle for either women to take and looking past them.

"Room three seems to be available. Ladies..." He indicated with a tilt of his head that he would follow at their pace.

Will kept his eyes peeled -- earrings, or toughies, or anything of that nature.

To be honest, though, at this point, he was just the backup should something go particularly wrong with the Basil-meetup.

The next person to take center stage did, in fact, have another one of those earrings, which brought the grand total to five people wearing them that they'd ID'd thus far in this establishment.

They weren't wearing much else. A spikey crop of short blond hair and the vague outline of a set of ears was the only thing on their face, their fae-like torso sporting a pair of star pasties over their nipples, and their lower half clad in a pair of hotpants in a matching purple colour. Their feet were sporting a pair of lace up boots, probably to avoid touching anything gross on the floor.

Up to five now in their little posse.

I think the regular staff still out numbers them, but it's close. If this is some kind of infiltration, they've been doing it for a while. Or perhaps they're taking over the club members, one by one.

Basil smirked at the tug, but remained silent otherwise. When they caught up to Sam he went through a verbal routine of explaining room access which he'd become familiar with at this point.

Once they were in however, he seemed to be very specific with his next statements.

He pointed casually to the camera in the room.

"Like all my clientele I want to start by assuring you ladies there is no audio on that unit. And while no camera can see me, they can catch my clothes and reflections of me in reflective surfaces, and they can certainly see any bad behavior you two get up to, so you should be ok your best behavior or someone might come to punish you and take me away." He sounded like he was flirting, but again the statement seemed to have something else underneath it, a suggestion that only a savvy listener could pick up on.

"Having said that, I don't have to dance if that's not what you're in the mood for. I am up for a variety of play but you must make your request clear and gain my consent before you take action. Likewise, you can touch me provided you gain my verbal consent beforehand. Like most dancers I don't do full service, so hopefully that's not going to be an issue for the pair of you.

Those are the ground rules. If we understand one another, then I am ready to take your requests."

"Alright." He replies in a congenial tone. The spark of familiarity Sam is looking for is faint, but its it's there. He seems to feel comforted by the name. He doesn't seem to focus on that feeling for very long however.

"If that's what you wish, Melody." He adds in reply to the blonde woman. Melody seemed to mean nothing to him, so Jez must have picked to for convenience.

Tugging a bit on that faint recognition, she continues.

"Now, stop me if you've heard this one. Bobbie didn't always lead a life he was proud of. At some point he tried to get away from his wicked ways, and become a librarian."

As she speaks, she lets her features soften into her natural ones, her actual accent starting to bleed back in.

"It was as a librarian that he met Sam. Specifically, he came to Sam because he needed advice about a girl. He really wanted to be with that girl, but he was worried she'd be ashamed of him if she knew how he used to act."

"And it was worse than that besides. He felt like he was in danger of slipping into old habits. He didn't know what side of himself to show the girl. Would it be the rules-bound Bailey he projected to the world, or the Bohemian he was when he got into all that trouble in his past. When he came to Sam he felt broken."

"Yes, I know this story very well. This and others about Bobbie." He replied to Sam's inquiry, stretching his arm across the back of the couch casually to keep the body language of his clothing as casual as possible to the camera.

Gingerly moving about Jez, Bobbie made himself comfortable by laying his head on the arm rest, his torso draped across her lap. He reached up to unzip his bodysuit down to his navel, looking at Jez as if he was daring her... as if he knew she would never.

But it looked better on camera to have him slightly exposed... less suspicious. He stopped to relax himself there, half lidded eyes looking off at nothing in particular. It seemed now he awaited whatever it was Sam was going to try.

"I am ready... Sam."

Bobbie feigned insult. "I never bite, I am very well behaved.

Perhaps when you're aroused you're just handsy, Melody."

While Bobbie's references to memories and what he knew may have been vague double talk to 'Melody', this wasn't. 'Melody' would know exactly what he was referring to. Especially since Bobbie was grinning at her from his relaxed spot and started playing with the pull on his zipper, sliding it up and down, eluding to something specific that only they would know about.

Samantha was used to Basil's mindscape mimicking the old streets of London as seen through a steampunk revisioning. Cobblestone and alleys, mews and rowhouses, shops and even an occasional vending cart filled with various bric-a-brac that probably meant something to Basil, but little to the onlooker.
It's depiction now heavily mimicked the city after the effects of what was commonly referred to by British historians as 'The Blitz'. The heavy rod iron gates that acted as the security to his mind were twisted and ripped from their posts and haphazardly tossed aside like they were made of paper mache. Beyond them parts of the city were destroyed where others stood untouched, empty. It all seemed quite random and with little strategic method applied.

Of course, to someone who was savvy, someone who knew the city already, that person would know that the seeming mayhem was very deliberate indeed. These cozy little nooks were where Basil stored the memories he wanted easy access to. The ones he would recall frequently to look over and show off or fuss about depending on the nature of the memory. These had to be the first things to go if one wanted to take a hold of his mind.

The fog that normally loomed on the outskirts of the city were gone, and off in the distance, a green light blinked in and out as one of the only 'artificial' lightsources left in the city. Bellowing throughout the city over the sound system the Bailey once used to speak to 'interlopers' and other trouble makers, was instead the soft sound of a French Jazz Standard.

Jez's personal style and Basil's mindscape theme fought against each other as she blipped into existence next to The Morrigan. While Jez had a fondness for riding gear, his mindscape decided to interpret this into a riding habit, complete with a Edwardian era riding skirt instead of the Jodhpurs she was such a fan of, and a top hat.

Despite having a limited form of telepathy, Jez actually didn't have much experience in the mindscapes of others. So when she saw the devastation that was Basil's mind palace she was taken aback, letting out a sharp gasp.

"Oh... oh no. This looks really, really bad. Like... a lot worse than I'd imagined." Hopefully it looked worse than it actually was. Underground bunkers perhaps. It took her a moment too notice her attire, feeling the little hat and pulling at her skirt to get a look at her footwear.

As the moved forward past the gates, a familiar voice would call out:

"Not much left I'm afraid."

He sat perched upon a pile of rubble The Morrigan would have known to be a statue of a looming female presence that had been defaced which stood outside the Bibliotheca Basilii. Sitting in the curvature from the hip to the bust of what remained of the large stone figure was The Burglar, or some version of him. He did not hide his identity from The Morrigan as it would be counter-productive to her visit here.

His hood thrown back over his shoulders, the last time she'd seen him he bore a ragged scar running across his face and anisocoria of the eye from the mental trauma of being ripped asunder by an unknown telepath. In addition to those, he now bore several more scars on his face, neck, and head, some even in his hairline where it was shorn short enough to tell. The cuts that made these were clean. Precise, though not quite surgcially so. Battle scars it seemed. His eyes were sunken and his lips parched. His face was drawn and somber. His deep-cowled half robe (which gave him his sagely vibe) was now shredded in places, and while Cheshire's body seemed to be in peak physical condition, The Burglar looked to be emaciated. His golden keys were gone, but his lock picks remained.

This vague approximation of Basil had been fighting a war of attrition. One he had been keeping ahead of, but just barely.
