Miriam nods. "I wasn't sure if you were calling the shots or everyone just respects your opinion enough to make it seem that way."

"I took over the group after a disagreement with our previous leader, but I consider myself a benevolent overlord." She grinned as they got back into the car and Flare hopped back in the van.

"Lack of vision," Trinity said out loud once they were all in the car. "His methodology was crude and caused as many problems as he attempted to solve. I prefer more subtle solutions until the hammerblow becomes necessary. The group agreed with me."

"Like today. I think I can agree with that, violence would not have solved much there."

"Ursus and Flare could have easily destroyed his office, and him, had his prejudices proved too deep seated to change, but thanks to your assistance, I don't think that will ever be necessary." She sighed, "The mundanes need to learn to work with us, because the new species will end up on top of the food chain at some point. And those that don't adapt... well..."

And there it is...

"You kill him and someone else will take his place. Maybe his wife or his children. Only you'd have given them an actual reason, one that's not as easily undone."

"An important point my predecessor failed to grasp," she said as she pulled away to head towards a nicer district.

"Good riddance to him, then. Is that all you had on the agenda for business today?"

"Unless something else comes up, there's nothing we'll need to be involved in. Everything else is things that Ursus and Flare can handle. Why? Were you wanting more?" The triplet in the backseat with her grinned at her.

"Just wondering, I'd rather not post-pone spending a leisurely afternoon with you." she smirks back at her.

"We'll go have lunch and then I'll introduce you to Blazer and we'll go shopping. It should be a nice afternoon."

"Sounds lovely." she nods.

As they drove through Lambeth, they passed a repair garage. A woman standing outside the shop watches them pass. The woman has dark hair except for a shock of blond in her bangs. She looks like a biker. One of the triplets tracks the woman and Miriam can sense Trinity's mood sour a bit.

"Someone you're not too fond of?"

"Saw someone we thought we knew," she said with a shrug, "Bad memories."

"Sorry to hear that. I didn't mean to pry."

"She reminded us of our previous driver, that's all. We had a disagreement with her and she decided to leave our little team." Miriam could pick up that there was some prevarication around the woman *reminding* them of the previous driver.

"That's unfortunate. But I suppose the best for everyone involved in the end?"

"That remains to be seen. Ursus is competent with transport, but he doesn't quite have the gift she had for the maintenance side of the equation."

"Well, I'm afraid I won't be much help on that front. But I suspect you had other things in mind for me anyway."

"No sense wasting your talents under the hood of a car," said the triplet in the back seat with her. "On the hood of a car maybe," teased the triplet in the front passenger seat. "Anyway," said the driver as they pulled into a parking garage and found a place to park.

Miriam just smirks at the one in the front seat before looking around to see where they ended up.

It looks like Soho, close to one of the shopping districts. "Seriously though," the driver said, "It is nice to have a companion who understands telepathy. Who gets the nuances that thought brings to things."

"It is." she says as she gets out of the car. "It's not really something other people can grasp. It's easy to wrap your head around flying or setting things on fire. Telepathy is something else."

After a nice lunch in a cafe, they moved to store. A young woman with an obvious family resemblance to Flare was standing outside one of the store's windows, looking at the display while she munched on some peanuts. "Blazer," Trinity said, catching the woman's attention, "This is Mnemosyne. Mnemosyne, this is Blazer."

"Pleased to meet you," Blazer said, with the hints of a French accent on her words.

"Nice to make your acquaintance. Do you two share similar talents, as the names would suggest?"

"Fortunately not," she said. "Flare's welcome to his flashy displays."

"Blazer runs messages for us," Trinity explained. "Sometimes literally."

"When it positively has to be in London in 5 minutes," Blazer says with a grin.

"Ah, more of a trailblazer. Very convenient."

"Sometimes the physical is a better option than the digital, but we like to have options," Trinity said, "Though telepathy is best of course."

Blazer snorted, "So are we going shopping or are we going to bask in smugness of telepathic superiority?"

"Don't worry, I'm fairly certain you could take me out before I had a chance to even notice." she chuckles. "Let's stick to the shopping."
