No. 41 Mayfair

The cab Will and Miriam are in pulls up in front of a nightclub lit with predominantly purple lights. There's a long line of people waiting to be let in past the purple rope and the bouncer guarding the entrance. Miriam climbs out of the car and seems to have no intentions of paying the driver.

Will slipped out next to Miriam, hanging on her arm like a good piece of eyecandy.

Miriam moves past the long line of people until they get to the bouncer. Behind them the taxi driver blinks and comes to the realization that he's already been paid. What an odd thing to have slipped his mind, it happened just now after all. The bouncer eyes Miriam and Will.

"Miriam Bell." she informs him before he can ask for her name. His eyes dart across his clipboard and he shakes his head.

"Not on here. Back of the line, dear." he says polite but firmly, nodding his head ever so slightly towards the line.

"I think you should check again." she says she says with a rather aggressive smile. The bouncer's eyes glaze over for a moment and he looks down at his list again. Yep, the name he'd heard is right there. For a moment he thought he'd heard a completely different one.

"My apologies. I'm sorry." he says, lifting the rope and letting the two in. Miriam can't help but shoot him a parting glance and a "You bloody well be." under her breath. As she steps into the club proper with Will her mood seems to brighten though and she smiles brightly. It's not too packed, which seems contrary to the amount of people outside, but a quick look over to the bar and the prizes of the various drinks explains it. They can afford to be selective when a bottle of champagne starts at a thousand Pound and only goes up from there.

"I don't think your name was actually on the list," Will whispered.

"Of course not. They'd never in a million years let somebody like me in here." she whispers back. Well, talks at regular volume really. While the music isn't obnoxiously loud it's still filling the room.

"That seems like a long time to wait! No wonder the line was so long."

"Damn right. So... you wanna know what a five-thousand pound bottle of champagne tastes like?" she smirks.

"Probably a lot like glass, unless it's really fancy."

"The champagne, dummy. Not the bottle itself." she chuckles.

"I'm sure it's probably alright if it costs that much," she shrugged.

"You'd hope it's better than alright." she says, tugging Will along to the bar, waving at the bar-tender and ordering a bottle of champagne. When he asks her how she intends to pay for it she picks a group of drunk people who have clearly surrounded themselves with equally drunk women. "Courtesy of Pete. He said... to put it on Mr. Baker-Hughes' tab?" she says, pulling the relevant names form the drunk man's mind. As the bar-tender walks off to fetch the bottle she gives Will a conspiratorial wink.

"Something in your high? And who is Pete?"

"Pete." she says, with a little bit of emphasis. "Is the guy who will be buying us drinks tonight. Don't tell him that though. He doesn't need to know."

Eventually the bartender comes back with a bottle and two glasses. He makes a small ceremony out of popping it before pouring the both of them a glass and leaving the bottle on the counter with them.

"Cheers!" Miriam grins at Will, picking up one of the glasses and raising it.

"Oh! I didn't know that," she said, picking up her glass. "To not being sad!"

"To not being said!" she agrees, clinking her glass against Will's and taking a sip that's just a little too big to not be sad. "Tonight we'll have fun!"

Miriam smiles back and Will and for a while is happy just sipping on her ill-gotten champagne and listening to the music. Eventually though she seems to get bored. "Do you want to dance?" she asks Will.

Will was enthusiastic, but apparently had no knowledge of how to dance, boogieing along roughly in time with the music.

Miriam on the other hand seemed to be doing quite well. Resisting the urge to help out via telepathy she takes Will's hands and tries to guide her moves some.

Will. as you might expect, was pliable, and Miriam could quickly get her into something resembling a solid dancing pattern, even if she was mostly mimicking Miriam.

Even if it's just mimicking, the result probably looks like a pretty well synchronized dance, which is just as well. At the very least Miriam seems to be enjoying herself as well as the attention they're garnering.

Will spun perhaps a little TOO much, but Miriam could get her righted out quickly enough. "I guess!" she said, smiling and nodding.
