"Oh she mentioned it during Never Have I Ever. Little thing packs a punch!"

"Huh," Natalie says, "I would imagine so with the car crushing."

"Yeah..." she trails off, staring up at the stars for a bit. "Hope you still had fun tonight." she says eventually.

"I did. Thank you," she says quietly, looking up at the stars herself.

Shari doesn't say anything for a while, not even glancing over at Natalie.

"You know..." she finally breaks the silence "It's weird how the stars are the only thing that ever seems to stay the same. People, cities, even my own faces are always different, but up there nothing changes. You can draw in different pictures but it's always the same bright dots."

"I guess it's that it's so much larger than ourselves that it's not currently in our power to change. But having a constant is a nice thing."

"What, you'd want to change the stars?" she chuckles, sitting down on the grass between the pagoda and the river.

"Of course," Natalie says, sitting down next to her, "If I had the power to do so, I'd contemplate it, but only in a responsible way. Certainly the stars have things that could be fixed."

"I would probably do something stupid with it. Like draw butts in the sky."

"I guess it's just how I look at things with my power. I like fixing things. I like helping. If it would help to draw butts in the sky, I would most certainly do it." She grins at Shari, apparently finally relaxing again.

"I don't even want to know in what scenario that could possibly be helpful." she laughs.

"Probably for the best," Natalie says, lying back to look at the stars again, "Never the sky butt times."

"It would shape the course of history, for worse or for better. Of course, if you look at it right you can already make up whatever you want up there. Like check those up there..." she says, pointing at a couple of stars. "Those could be a shoe. Or a car. Or a kitty-cat."

"Anything that you want it to be, but every once in a while it's nice when people can see the same thing."

"Like butts?" she snickers. "But no, you're right... People don't see the same thing often enough."
