Chelmsford - Welcome To The Club

She didn't know how they'd figured out how to contact her, but being invited to a guest DJ night at the Raven's Crest wasn't really an opportunity that Natalie could turn down. Still, she'd briefly considered turning it down, but she needed something to do since she couldn't work on her project. The club had put up a few ads around the school. She wasn't the only DJ tonight, but she'd drawn what she considered the short straw and had to lead off with the first set. She was backstage, collecting her thoughts and bouncing lightly on her feet as she tries to build the energy she thinks she needs for this.

After a bit, someone comes by and tells her its time. She takes a deep breath and walks out on stage to the expectant faces in the vicinity of the dance floor. She starts to introduce herself, but she realizes they've already done that for her. As she gets into range of the console, the system starts spinning up as her mind reaches into the programming and begins working through to find where she wants to start. It's a little cheesy, but she settles on a song finally and gets behind the console. She moves her hands to the controls and the song starts.

The peppy beat begins to draw people to the floor and she weaves in some remixes, even taking the chance to remix it herself a little on the fly. It's mostly successful. As the music continues to draw people, she switches to a different piece, building the tempo and pushing the energy in the room. The dance floor lights rotate and move in coordination with the music. Anyone who knows Natalie knows the look on her face right now. It's pure joy and abandon as she sinks into two things she loves: technology and club music.

She bounces from song to song, occasionally letting one song linger for too long. As she rolls towards the end of the set, she rolls into something fast-paced to key up the crowd for the next DJ. As she hands off to the next DJ, there's some applause and she ducks backstage to change quickly and move out into the club herself to relax. She's still not 100% comfortable around this many people, but she needs to get used to that, right?
