Ireland - Special Delivery

Some time after Christmas itself a large box is delivered to the McManus household, addressed to Sam. About two feet on each side in size it looks like a stereotypical present, wrapped in red, white and green paper and with a bow on it. On it is a little tag that flips open.

"...huh. Guess this was delayed in the post," Sam says as she takes it in, walking over to the living room.

The package has quite a bit of heft to it, but with some effort she manages to haul the thing inside. The little tag on it has a printed message that simply reads

I believe this is yours
Now leave me be
-M

"...oh, bloody hell." She mumbles, quickly working to unwrap it and open the box.

Unwrapping the box reveals... a relatively smooth, grey surface of clay that seems to fill out the entirety of the box.

A look of panic spreads across her face, and she grunts to lift the package again, dodging a dirty look from her sister as she dashes up the stairs and into her room.

Shutting the door behind her, she reaches out with her mind.

"...Will?"

The first thing Sam got from the box was...the strains of "Last Christmas", on endless repeat. Good lord, hadn't the man suffered enough?

But almost immediately after she reached out, the music faded out, and mental activity began once again.

Nnn. Sam? Sam, is that you? Will's voice said, as the clay slowly began to twist and reshape itself.

"Are you okay?"

"Why... why is Miriam sending you through the post?"

I'm...I've got a HELL of a headache, but I'm alright, he thought, as head and shoulders began to form out of the clay and out of the box.

"Miriam did this? I don't....I don't remember that. The post? Where...where are we?" he said, blinking as his eyes got used to the light again.

"You're ah... in my room. Miriam mailed you to me," she whispers.

It looks a bit sparse. Not like her room back at the university. The few personal items remaining are of a more childish bent, like the tap shoes on the dresser.

"...you know, in Ireland."

"Wait, Ireland, like, the country?" Will said, surprised, and louder than intended.

"No, Ireland the corner pub. Of course Ireland the country! Keep it down!"

"Sorry! Sorry!" he stage whispered. "It's just...what am I doing in Ireland? The last thing I remember, I was going back to my room to stretch my muscles on Christmas morning, and now I'm across the bloody sea?"

"I don't know. I don't even know where Miriam's been since she got all... you know, photophobic."

"Apparently, she got very invested in the Royal Mail.

Gee whiz. She couldn't have even left me conscious for the dang thing, could she? I hope she at least overnighted me..."
he mumbled, looking for a calendar.

"...it's New Year's Eve."

"Do you want a bit to... get yourself together?"

"Ahh, man, I missed Christmas? For chrissakes," Will moaned. "I'm gonna give her such a scolding when we finally find her."

Will climbed out of the box and stretched himself out, neck and joints popping as he straightened himself out. "I'm actually going to be alright, though if you have any asprin, I'd love it. Strangely, I feel a little...refreshed? I guess that'd be the word. Maybe it's just been too long since I traveled

Will drew himself up to his full height ... which, unusually, was not quite up to Sam's shoulders.

"...no, that's all there is to me. Dangnabit," he swore again. "Normally, I snap right back. Must of been some poor handling in the post; I'm lucky I wasn't lost!"

"Are you sure you don't remember anything? I could go for a dive, but I don't have a lot of privacy here."

"Not a dang thing. Sorry.

Don't want to get you into any trouble or anything here, so I'll keep for now,"
he mused. "But this is just a tad awkward.

"...Shit. I don't have a passport.

Or any form of ID, for that matter, other than my Xavier's ID."

"Aye, so I'm going to have to either pack you, or wear you."

"You don't show up weird on x-rays or anything, do you?"

"I shouldn't, unless they're scanning for X-Genes.

I mean, I CAN show up weird, but that's only when I'm doing that intentionally, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to explain that to airport security."

"...probably look less odd if I just wear you," she reasons.

"No offense, aye?"

"Well, I'll make sure not to mention anything about pagan mystic goddesses, alternate universes or packs, just to keep your hair from falling out," Will teased. "Or vampires, for that matter. Just a normal guy who normally came to visit some friends for New Year's. Normally."

"Food's the easiest and most normal way to do it. Just gotta regain some mass somehow, and pigging out always seems to help. I could eat a horse at the moment."

A short time later Sam comes back with a sizable circular tin.

"Told Mum I'd like to take some cookies back to campus," she says as she hands it to Will.

"Not really a lie, I guess. There's two dozen there."
