And You Let Her Go

The two possible sites in the north end of Wales ended up being both duds, but the fly over of Llyn y Fan Fach generates a definite sense of something for Vivienne. Even Sam can feel the pull of a battle taking place, but not in the desperate life-or-death sense. A quick look from the air shows nothing immediately obvious other than the sheltered lake and small rescue shelter next to the lake's dam. It takes Tereza a bit to find a suitable place to set the Blackbird down, leaving them a hike up the road to get to the lake itself. The ramp hisses as the engines wind down enough to make it safe to disembark.

Vivienne took a deep breath before stepping off the metallic ramp, the moment she set foot on the ground there was a change all would feel.

"She is here." She whispered as the very air thrummed with magic. "And now, they know too."

As Vivienne looks up the road, she can feel the edge of some large working on fey magic. Her mother's magic is certainly involved, but it's not the only component. She can't tell who else is involved though.

Diego's stopped walking when the "change" occurred, fur standing up a little.

"Should us muggles have felt that?" he asked nervously, eyes briefly flaring blue as his unknownst-to-him sight-beyond-sight tried to see what was really going on.

Diego's extra-sensory perception showed a wavering picture, looking like heat waves rising from the snowy area. The waviness actually obscured anything beyond it.

Ainsley listened, but not for humans.

He was trying to tune into any perceived panic from local fauna in hopes of alarming *himself* to what danger lay ahead, if no one else.

Most of the local birds seem pretty content, tranquil even. And he can sense larger animals up the road. It takes him a moment to place the sense, because they're not *as* common in London, but he finally places the sense as horses.

Sean walks down the ramp and tries to tune himself to the ambient magic. He walks over to stand by Vivienne.

"The magic is thick here," Sean said as he tried to feel out if there was a trail to follow.

No trail, per se, but he can sense the magic that shares a kinship with Vivienne's own magic. There's something else wrapped in amongst the fey magic though. Something more primal, more natural, and fiercely protective.

"The pull is growing, it is time." She looked around the landscape letting the natural tether that bound her to her mother guide her.

Sean nodded and tried to unweave the magic to get at what was hiding in the weave. He moved to follow Vivienne as he did so trusting in that she more than likely knew what was going on.

As they move forward, Sean starts to get his hooks into the beginnings of the spell. As he does so, he gets a better sense of it. It's an illusion of some sort, hiding whatever is under it. Interwoven with the fey magic, he begins to find a different kind of magic. It feels like a distant cousin of the fey magic, but still different and decidedly 'not fey'.

The pull begins to take Vivienne up the road towards the shimmery wall of magic that Diego can see. As they get closer, Sam can get a better sense of the fighting and it doesn't feel like other battles she's sensed. It's too... nice for lack of a better term.

"Diego, if we can feel it, it probably ain't a good sign," Trev murmured, looking around as he disembarked, sticking closely near Gemma.

Because girlfriend, and because she probably knew better than he what the hell was actually going on here.

"Now or never." She reached back for Cal's hilt and stepped into the wall.

As she does so, she disappears from sight. Sam can still feel her mind though, connected as they are. Sean and Diego can see the disturbance her passing creates in the wall.

****
On the other side of the wall, Vivienne's confronted by possibly the last thing she expects to see. A tall castle overlooks a large swath of green grassy ground. Across the lawn, various beings, their true forms shrouded in full armor, train at various types of fighting: jousting, sparring, and in one fenced off section there is what appears to be a grand melee. Looking down at herself, she can see that she's now clad in a long deep blue gown that nearly touches the ground. Cal is still where she expects him to be.

Victor probably could have probably said something smarmy about a certain fictional train platform, but he was honestly so weirded out by being around magic that he kept his mouth shut. Well it wasn't that it was magic, more that it was magic again, and that some of these sensations were unsettlingly familiar.

Sean watches Will and Vivienne step through. Their disappearance made him pause and gawk, but he was hoping that a clue to whatever was blending its power in with the Fey magic might be wherever Vivienne and Will disappeared. It wasn't long before he too stepped through.

"Something tells me this... isn't a Renn Faire."

As Will, comes through the wall, his outfit changes to a suit of armor. Dented and dinged and road worn, but the armor of a knight all the same. Here and there, pieces of the armor don't quite match the overall suit, but they've been worked in to their own place in the overall outfit. Over the armor is a white surcoat with a red cross.

Sean Hall wrote:Sean watches Will and Vivienne step through. Their disappearance made him pause and gawk, but he was hoping that a clue to whatever was blending its power in with the Fey magic might be wherever Vivienne and Will disappeared. It wasn't long before he too stepped through.

Sean's own magic resists the tampering that the wall tries to make in his appearance, but whatever is in the wall is older and stronger here and when he comes out the other side, he's dressed in a scholar's robe, but in a deep, almost black, purple. All his magic accouterments are where he expects them to be, the wall apparently having known not to interfere with those.

Samantha McManus wrote:"They're not gone. It's safe. Ish," she says to the others.

Then she steps through.

For Sam, walking through the wall almost feels like coming home or visiting an old, familiar vacation place. The gown she's wearing on the other side is made of a shiny black material, suggestive of a raven's feathers and the off-the-shoulder neckline is trimmed with actual raven feathers.

Tereza emerges from the wall next to Sam, forced to four legs, but larger than any normal wolf. There's something wild and primal about this shape, but her overall mood is remarkably peaceful. At the very least, her fur is a brilliant silver-white, which probably means things are okay.

Diego Zapata wrote:Diego poked the barrier to watch it ripple.

Diego's outfit is another suit of armor, new and shiny. The surcoat over his armor is yellow with a red three fingered design that looks a lot like a blocky letter M.

Gemma steps through shortly thereafter, but she appears unchanged. She lets out a deep, relaxed sigh. "Now this feels like home," she says quietly to herself.

Shari follows behind the group, nose swiveling around and sniffing like a dog as she tries to figure out the strange feeling. Not paying as much attention as she maybe should she steps through the barrier, only noticing it at the last second and stopping in her tracks on the other side, standing up on her back-paws to look around at the scenery and her strangely-clad friends.

It takes the magic a bit longer to take hold on Shari. For a moment, she's an otter wearing a gown and a tall, cone-shaped hat. Then the magic pauses and reworks, twisting her back into her Skrull shape before she has a chance to think about it. Oddly enough, that nagging hunger she'd been experiencing from the creature on the train platform fades into the background. It's still there in whispers, but it feels more manageable. The gown is replaced with a different armor design, designed more for a hot environment, reminiscent of that Middle Eastern armor she'd seen that day she'd snuck into one of the museums in London to get out of the heat. Her surcoat is a black and white checkerboard pattern.

The horses are certainly there. Some are being ridden by knights and others are grazing idly on grass that shouldn't be there. They're certainly healthier specimens than he's seen in London. A couple of the nearby horses raise their head and look in Ainsley's direction in idle curiosity. Ainsley's outfit warps to a brown robe, somewhat roughspun, but not uncomfortable. His backpack shifts to something more in line with the rest of his outfit, but all its contents remain intact.

"What the..." Shari says, still kind of standing in a now-awkward position, sort of up on her haunches, hands angled and folded in front of her like, well, an otter standing up. "I didn't do this." she says, more surprised by how this happened and not so much by the change itself. She's used to that.

Trev comes out the other side of the wall, wearing armor as well. His surcoat is yellow with a diagonal stripe of red and black. As soon as she sees it, Gemma bursts off laughing and can't seem to stop.

Trev was busy admiring his new look when his girlfriend burst out laughing, and he was honestly a bit confused. Did he look *that* out of place in armor? He was about to open his mouth to protest when Sam took charge, and he nodded, stepping closer to Gemma again.

“Do I even want to know what was so funny?” he whispered to her. “Also do I need to know anything about wearing fey armor?”

If Victor had known he'd be getting a new set of clothes on this adventure he probably wouldn't have taken so much time to get ready in the first place. But since no one was coming back screaming and on fire it seemed safe enough. It's not like he knew how to fly the Blackbird home, so there wasn't much sense in staying behind to keep it safe.

He might not have had super-senses, but the smell on the other side was immediately noticeable to someone who grew up in a rural area; fresh air and animals. It actually was slightly comforting, compared to the other weirdness.

Vic's outfit was less armor-like and more courtly. Still, he had a surcoat like the others, a black field trimmed in silver with a downward pointing dagger in the center.
