"Distraction it is, then," Sam says as she dances steadily closer to Miriam.

[Miriam Bell]

Miriam for her part does her best to move in and out of Sam's personal space, getting close only to twist away. "Perhaps..."

"But I'd be lieing if I said I haven't wondered what you'd taste like." she adds quietly as her lips brush past Sam's ear before she withdraws again.

Vibing off of Miriam's flirtatiousness, the cape of her dress would briefly wrap around Sam's leg, sliding up and down before darting back as Miriam pulled away again.

"I could probably let you have a taste. What's the harm?"

[Miriam Bell]

Miriam laughs slightly and puts both her hands on Sam's shoulder.

"Sam. I say this with all due respect - however much that may be - but you suck at flirting."

[Samantha McManus]

"Oh, you meant... oh."

For the first time in the night, Sam reddens.

"Well, then."

[Miriam Bell]

Miriam can't help but burst out laughing, actually holding her hand in front of her mouth.

"Behold, the fearsome goddess laid low by innuendo. I'll try to keep your weakness to myself." she says with a grin that shows her needle-sharp incisors.

It's alright, Sam her dress thought, squeezing her tightly (reassuringly?) Practice makes perfect.

And besides, you've been vibing people to take advantage of their limited time tonight.

Would you expect anything less from the people you're closest to?

"I would have thought you'd be more used to double-talk, dating a Fae of some sort. Or do you usually just cheat a little?" she asks with a playful smirk, gently tapping Sam's forehead.

[Samantha McManus]

"If you started into rhyming riddles, I probably wouldn't have missed a beat," she smirks back, her own teeth sharpening.

[Miriam Bell]

"Far too whimsical for my liking, I'm afraid."

[Samantha McManus]

"We'll stick with things that go bump in the night, then."

[Miriam Bell]

"Oh I'm sure the Fae do too, they're just not as honest about it."

[Samantha McManus]

"Can confirm," she grins toothily.

[Will Stanton]

And if school schedules weren't an issue, it wouldn't be limited to the night, I imagine

[Miriam Bell]

Miriam groans over dramatically. "You and your dress are being a bit braggadocious."

[Samantha McManus]

"I think that might be your dress liking my style."

[Will Stanton]

"They're very biased." Miriam tries to play it off.

[Samantha McManus]

"They weren't the ones propositioning me a moment ago," she says, still grinning.

[Miriam Bell]

"Maybe I do just want to drink your blood. Not that that isn't intimate in it's own way..."

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm sure you wouldn't want whatever madness is going through these veins."

[Miriam Bell]

"Don't threaten me with a good time, Sam."

[Samantha McManus]

"Suppose tonight was always going to be about topping each other, we just didn't know in what sense."

[Will Stanton]

Both Wills did everything they could to quickly get that image out of their heads in front of two telepaths.

[Miriam Bell]

"Worried about your place in the pecking order?" Miriam smirks, not commenting on Will's thoughts but the odds that she missed them are probably low...

[Samantha McManus]

"I don't always have to be dominant," she chuckles.

[Miriam Bell]

"Is that so?" Miriam smirks and sweeps her arm in a dance move that just so happens to wrap the fabric trailing from her wrist to the rest of her dress around Sam, trapping her arms around her chest and dipping her low on the last riff of the song, holding her only with the loop of fabric around her.

"This where I pick a safe word, or are we throwing caution to the wind?" She smirks as Miriam lifts her back up.

[Miriam Bell]

"Pick a thought. Something I would never think..."

[Samantha McManus]

Sam closes her eyes for a moment, then Miriam gets the feeling of waking up to a sunrise, except it doesn't burn or even hurt her eyes. She just knows she's safe and warm and a muscled, pale and freckled arm is wrapped around her.

"You're so sappy." Miriam rolls her eyes, but there's a hint of a smile in the corner of her mouth. "But that'll work just fine as a thought to recognize as distinctly yours." she says and Sam can tell that Miriam is concerned about imposing her own thoughts over any possible objections without noticing.

"You're the one who asked for contrast," she chuckles, opening up her mind and letting it bleed into Miriam's.

And that's when the dance floor changes and their feet are suddenly moving across polished marble. The effect spreads and soon encompasses the entire dance-floor, creeping up the walls that become cracked from wild vegetation sprouting along them. Wild roses, tangled ferns and on one side of the room a gnarled, ancient tree breaches the room with it's trunk. Some of the other guests look concerned, others ohh and aah at the magical-seeming effect.

Sam isn't exactly in a position to lead, especially with her arms still bound, but she does seem to anticipate what Miriam wants to do, leaning into things at just the right time. As this happens, Miriam becomes more aware of the ebb and flow of the dance floor's occupants. The feints, the advances, the retreats.

[Will Stanton]

The long, elaborate cape Miriam is wearing manages to stay out of the way of the footwork, which is impressive and an of itself.

Careful... it seemed to whisper at Miriam.

Miriam for her part is quite enjoying herself, leading Sam across the dance floor. Will's thought of caution does make her hesitate a little, mid-step. Not enough to stumble, but she has to take a beat or two to align with the music again. "I know. I know. I have it under control." she mutters quietly.

"What's that?" Sam asks with a quirked brow, swaying into the next turn.

[Will Stanton]

A light, semi-reassuring squeeze on Miriam's leg was the response from her dress, and then silence.

[Miriam Bell]

"Just a... friendly reminder from my dress. To be careful with everyone here who isn't part of the game." she says just before swinging Sam around her to the beat of a new song beginning to play.
