In the later morning hours, Basil would buzz Daphne's phone.

[Dafne Spencer]

"Cousins Information Group, how may I help you?" Dafne greeted, expecting it to be Colette.

[Basil Benson]

"Put Gus on."

[Dafne Spencer]

"What lovely manners you have, caller from beyond the grave."

[Basil Benson]

"... Please?"

[Dafne Spencer]

"OoooOoohhh, magic words. Yes hold on."

[Gus Spencer]

"Ah Basil, you survived."

"I'd offer congratulations, but I'm guessing the jury's still out on some things."

[Basil Benson]

"Being alive is preferred to the alternative, but not being disappeared at all would definitely be the best outcome.

I think we need to talk."

[Gus Spencer]

"You certain? I think the last time we talked stirred up the hornets' nest a bit. I may have done you a disservice."

[Basil Benson]

"The disservice can be overlooked, as I think this would have happened eventually regardless of our contact.

Perhaps later in my life, but perhaps later would have been a bad thing. Maybe later I wouldn't have been as inclined to fight."

[Gus Spencer]

"I don't think George Benson is planning to live forever, but I do think he'd hoped he had more time."

[Basil Benson]

"Oh don't worry. I won't murder him.

But I do have a nice island prison picked out for him. I hope he's as excited about Japan as I'm told my genetic father is."

[Gus Spencer]

"More that I think he'd hoped to mold you into someone who would do what he wanted. Less pressure on him when he's not technically the one with power. Out of the crosshairs."

"What having you learn how to pole dance had to do with that is a bit beyond me, though."

[Basil Benson]

"I'm sure Dafne would be the first to tell you, side quests are for character development." He quipped.

[Gus Spencer]

"So, I take it the experience of being thoroughly ratfucked has only galvanized you into doing what he'd rather hoped to prevent, am I correct?"

"Because if so, you're certainly in the running to become my favorite cousin."

[Basil Benson]

"Indeed.

Though to be fair, the competition isn't that stiff from my end as it is from yours. I have six I have to pick from. The real question is: are you going to be mine?"

[Gus Spencer]

"I already wanted George Benson to get what's coming to him. The quantity of what's coming to him changing doesn't change much other than the urgency."

[Basil Benson]

"Well then.

Where to meet?"

[Gus Spencer]

"Where do you feel safe?"

"Or perhaps more to the point, has Watanabe managed to look you in the eye yet?"

[Basil Benson]

Shit..." He said, making a realization while he was on the phone with Gus.

[Gus Spencer]

"You might want to have an all hands on deck meeting. This isn't going to get easier."

[Basil Benson]

"Right...

Did you want to come here oooorr?"

[Gus Spencer]

"If that's where you're feeling safest. I'll convince Dafne she needs to go touch some grass."

[Dafne Spencer]

"Nature is bullshite!" A voice called from the background, who clearly must have been listening in.
