"Seems like a pretty safe bet. I'll know for sure the next time he shows his face around me..."

"We don't know if he's been seen outside of Chelmsford, but I get the impression he's not from around here..."

"If what the owner said was true about the language he used, then no, I'd say he's not."

"We could try and see where he lives. If he's been around for at least a bit he might have left enough impressions on people around town to track him down."

"Hopefully the owner has a lead..."

Erica returns shortly after that, "Bartender says that this guy has been in before, but he doesn't recall him talking to her before tonight. I called one of the bartenders from the other night and she says she remembers several men talking to you, but that there was one man who spent longer talking to you. She said the man had her call you a cab, but that he didn't leave with you."

Miriam frowns slightly. It's not entirely clear if it's at Wanda or the situation in general.

"In other words we got nothing. Did the bartender at least remember what he looked like?"

"You do realize how popular this place is and how many people come through here in any given night? You're lucky your friend is as unusual as she is or we might have less than nothing," Erica says, "Best I could get is dark hair, foreign accent, and a preference for grappa."

"We've got nothing, or... several somethings."

"Yeah, very popular. Just among the wrong kind of people, apparently."

Erica bristles at that, but schools herself quickly back into a business-like manner. "I'll forgive your insinuation since you've had such a bad experience, but that is not the sort of person I seek to attract." She holds up three fingers, which slaps Sam with deja vu again. She starts ticking off things, "I've informed the bouncers he's not to be allowed back in under any circumstances. I'll be retraining my bartenders on what to watch for. And as an apology, I'll set aside one of the VIP rooms for your use in the future. That's the best I can do at the moment until some more information comes along."

"You like everything... neat and tidy, don't you?" Sam asks, focusing rather intensely on Erica for a moment. The flock feels like it's ready to burst out as her attention shifts.

That somehow seems to get Erica's attention and her eyes flash briefly with purple light for the briefest instant before she quashes it. "I'm a business woman. Can you blame me for disliking loose ends?"

"Of course. Wouldn't want to leave anything to chance," she nods slowly.

"But you'll keep an ear to the wind for us, won't you?"

Erica gives Sam a smile so sweet it could cause tooth decay. "Of course. I always do. If I hear anything, I'll be sure to let all of you know."

From her guard position, Tereza seems to pick up on Sam's agitation and she turns around. "Sam, is there a problem?"

"Everything's fine as long as we understand each other..."

Erica inclines her head to Sam, "Of course. Your server will bring you whatever you want. It's all on the house tonight. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some other things to attend to." She gives them the slightest of polite bows and backs out of the VIP room, once again giving Tereza as wide a berth as possible.

"Is anybody else kind of surprised by how well this place is doing? Maybe if it were in London, but Chelmsford?"

"...not anymore, I'm not."

"Care to explain that or is being cryptic just the theme of the night?"

"That was her, Tereza," Sam says over to her girlfriend. "I'm nearly certain of it."

"From the camping trip?" Tereza asks, "Want me to bring her back?"

"No. I think... I think she gets that I figured it out."

Miriam turns her head until she spots one of the bartenders and telepathically suggests to her that a large Long Island Ice-tea would be appreciated at the VIP table.

Sam turns to Miriam.

"It's... hard to explain."

"Or rather it's hard to explain without you calling me crazy again."

Tereza just chuckles and goes back to her guard position while the bartender sends the suggested drink over.

"So maybe do your best to explain it? Because I am really confused."

"She's... approached me before. She didn't want me to know who she was, or where to find her, I think. She wanted... to make a deal."

"What do you even have that she might want?" she asks between generous sips of alcohol.

"She... doesn't want to die."

"Fairly certain that's true for most people."

"No, I mean she doesn't want to die... like, ever."

"Where do you find these people?"

"...they find me, apparently."

Wanda watches Sam, "You think she's up to no good?"

"I'm not sure what to say, given that she owns this place we're in right now, but she's got power."

"So you waved a bunch of sticks at her and told her she's good?"

"...I don't think I'm getting the reference?"

"No reference, just not sure how ones goes about granting immortality."
