It doesn't take long and the door is ripped out by it's hinges, revealing yet another hallway. This one is a little wider and at the noise of the doors being removed a figure walks out into the hall from what appears to be some kind of sentry station and stops for a second, looking at the group of mutants who just ripped open the door. Then he begins to turn, presumably to bolt to his station to sound an alarm.

Sam lashes out with her mind at the man trying to sound the alarm, aiming to knock him out if possible.

It feels like the man is at least somewhat trained in resisting telepaths and manages to resist enough to only stumble to one knee from his brain and legs being in disagreement over what to do while he tries to get himself sorted out...

And so, Chase swiftly and silently approached to pull the man away from the doorway and into a sleeper hold.

Tereza moved to take up point just the other side of the sentry station, her constructs catching up to her quickly.

The guard tries to bring his gun up but Will's first slash knocks the barrel to the side, shots ringing out as bullets ricochet off the wall. His finger doesn't squeeze the trigger for very long though, Will's next swing cutting into the man's arm and making him drop his weapon as blood stains the dark uniform and floods his sleeve. He drops his weapon and stumbles back just in time for another slice to only glance across his chest. He falls to the floor, weapon clattering on the ground next to him as he clutches his arm.

Their assumptions aren't wrong as a door down the hall opens and a man barks something in Russian back to where he came from. "<Intruders!>" They have little time to take in much about the man except for what is clearly some kind of skintight uniform before he bursts into flames and shoots down the corridor towards them.

The big construct slides into the fire guy's path, the walls and floor around it frosting over as the air itself chills. Tereza's eyes blaze bright white as she gestures and the big construct lashes out with an icy fist.

For a moment the man falters but then something suddenly pushes back against her like an expanding bubble of telepathic walls that encompasses the humanoid torch. The man, in turn, pulls his arm back and throws a punch right into the construct's own attack, his hand flaring to an almost white flame as he punches right through the arm, shattering it in a huge billow of steam that smoothes out the rest of the construct as it's outer layers melt. From behind the steam more flame lash out and begin to wash over the construct.

"<Go!>" Tereza yells in Russian as the serpentine construct leaps through the steam for the humanoid torch. She tries to reinforce the large construct as much as possible, but the most she can do under direct flame is delay the inevitable. Ice begins coating Tereza's arms and the temperature in the hallway continues to drop to counter the fire man's own temperature generation. "<Hey, fuck-face,>" she yells at the torch, "<What's your name so I know what to tell them when I turn you in at the infirmary?>"

The flames licking over the large construct ease up a little as the snake wraps itself around the living flame and the man focuses most of his attention on melting it instead. "<Flashfire. And I'm afraid we're well aware of what tricks you have up your sleeve.>" With a burst of flame her strains against the serpentine construct and it snaps in several places where the flames weakened it.

Samantha McManus wrote:Sam's mind retreats and circles around, trying to find the source of the telepathic jamming on the man.

It's somewhere further in the back. It's hard to pinpoint exactly because the other telepath seems to be trying to keep the whole area under wraps. That suddenly changes though and her focus narrows to something else, giving Sam the chance to zero in on the telepath's mind.

At the same time, a door down the hall suddenly bursts open. "<You don't even know who you're up against? Unprepared and sloppy, Glacier.>" the familiar voice of Tereza's sister calls out before something barrels past the flames and steam, smashing through one of the arms of the bulky construct and right into Will, crashing him into a wall with her shoulder.

Following behind her is a shape that looks ever so slightly unsteady as it runs towards the group.

"<Maybe if you employed people who were more photogenic or could get onto a news site now and again,>" Tereza retorted before lunging into what was left of the large construct. The ice caught her and pulled her in, the construct expanding to contain her as the arms reformed. The temperature around it spiked downward. At a certain point, somewhere below freezing, water vapor can actually go from gas to solid without hitting that pesky liquid state. Which leads to strange things happening, like snow in the middle of corridor in a secret facility in Russia.

The arrow hits the figure right in the shoulder, making it stumble for a second and pause to yank it out as electricity still arcs from it. The arrow clatters to the ground and a familiar-sounding 'snikt' sounds through the general chaos just before X-23 bursts down the hallway towards Chase. Her eyes are unfocused and her body language seem uncertain. She leaps at Chase, twin-claws arcing through the air, withdrawing at the last second and instead of slicing through Chase's arm she 'only' shoulder-checks into him with her considerable momentum.

The ambient temperature doesn't seem to slow down Flashfire much, sending snaking streams of fire at the construct in an attempt to keep Tereza from bulking up too much. Tereza's sister meanwhile is busy pounding Will into the wall, each blow sending cracks through the concrete, pinning Will in place for the moment. "Oh you haven't seen us on the news? We're all over the place." she smugly (and somewhat enigmatically) informs Tereza.

Samantha McManus wrote:"Mind your own business," Sam sends to the telepath as she zeroes in during the gap, probing defenses.

The response is the mental equivalent of an annoyed grunt. The telepath's defenses seem pretty solid, almost as if she's creating some kind of psionic field in which she hides. Except in this case the field seems to stretch out to encompass X-23.

I won't be much help against mind controlled Ms. Kinney, better to let Chase and Sam handle it.

i have no idea what the Russian woman can do, I'll just leave her to Will for now.

The streams of flame keep the construct's growth in check, but not its movement. Tereza punches one of the construct's fists at Flashfire. At the last second though, the fist splits open into four separate tendrils that try to wrap him up.

Sam's mental attack seems to slide right off of the field. It seems extremely focused and hard to penetrate, but on the other hand, she gets the impression the other telepath won't be easily able to extend the field to attack anybody. It seems more like something that is slowly established over time. It'd be simple to follow the field though and find where the telepath is hiding.

There are no obvious fire extinguishers, but he can sense fire suppression systems in the ceiling. It's only a matter of finding some way to activate them, like maybe some kind of computer access.

As Tereza throws a punch Flashfire seems to be preparing to do the same, pulling his frame back and a lot of flames along with it, gathering in his fist in an increasingly bright ball. When the ice-fist splits into four he seems to be surprised for a moment but then just extends his punch until it connects with the central part of the tentacles, unloading the gathered flames in one incredibly bright flash that shatters the base of the tentacles, sending them flying as the remains of the gathered flames continue to surge forward over Tereza's armor.

X-23 doesn't do anything to avoid the attacks. The first blow seems to daze her for a second, though it also sends a spike of pain up Chase's arm from slamming his elbow into solid adamantium with only a little bit of skin on each side to soften the blow. Still, the blow leaves her open enough to quickly land another one in her stomach despite the pain. Unfortunately this one seems to have less effect and in return the woman grabs Chase by the shoulders and jumps, flipping over him. For a second he can feel the tips of two claws pushing into each of his shoulders and if it wasn't for her arms buckling a little at Chase's words they probably would have punched right through and severed both of his arms. But instead one of her arms folds and she dismounts to one side, driving her fists into the ground before the claws extend fully.

She remains crouched like that for a second, her expression still blank but the rest of her body shaking from fighting some invisible fight.

The ice armor explodes forward, fragments flying at Flashfire with possibly a chunk or two big enough to survive the heat. The rest of the construct forcibly ejects Tereza across the floor, sliding her under the hovering figure. She rolls to her feet, pelting Flashfire from behind with ice as her armor begins to grow again from her back and shoulders.

Hacking the computer might be what others might do, Nash seems to go for the more direct route.

Nash takes aim with left arm and shoots his grappling hook over the nozzle nearest fire guy. He then gives the line just enough of a tug to pull it down, hoping that is enough to activate it.

Flashfire's pelted by the chunks of ice that come flying at him through the walls of steam and fire. He's prepared for the second salvo though, even if he didn't quite anticipate the direction, he's quick to bring up a roaring wall of flames that melts the projectiles and rapidly expands towards Tereza.

And that's when Nash tears the nozzle off of the fire suppressing system. Wet foam bursts out of it almost immediately and smothers most of the flames filling the area.

X-23 dodges and weaves away, throwing the occasional punch but she definitely seems sluggish. And Chase has at least some experience trying to tag her from training in the Danger Room. The fact that X-23's fighting style tends to rely on toughing out her opponents' attacks helps and Chase manages to slam the arrows into her shoulder. She convulses as the electricity discharges, her eyes focusing for a second even as her body already shakes off the effect of the tazing.

Following the mental field back to it's source is simple enough and soon she can spot the Telepath standing at the other end of the room she just burst into, hands pressed to her temples. Unfortunately next to her is a hulking wolf-beast of some sort that appears to be missing most of it's right arm.
