Werewolf? There Wolf.

Postby Narrator » Sat Apr 15, 2017 4:22 pm

Tereza memories are blurry. Vague impressions of an ambush float through her mind and waking up inside some kind of tank. Or maybe it was just a bad dream. Her consciousness was drifting in and out, only retaining vague impressions of shapes walking in front of her, muffled voices talking in a strange language. Who knows how much time has passed just hanging there, sleeping, surrounded by a warm drowsiness, drifting inside a tank in suspended animation. Green Reptilian Humanoids come and go occasionally, checking on some read-outs on the side of the tank. They're mildly concerned, the chamber isn't keeping the mutant in as deep a coma as it should but she's not awake enough to truly be roused.

But now something else is tugging at her bones. Something bigger than these strange dreams of alien abductees, like a pale eye opening in the sky. Her vital signs spike as the ancient curse demands it's toll be payed. The Moon doesn't care for the machinery surrounding her and the sedatives pumped into the liquid she's suspended in. It only cares for the Hunt, to be set free from all restraints.

Tereza's human mind is sleepy, lulled by the hum of the machinery and the sedatives, but it rouses as the moon sings her to wakefulness. She has no choice but to answer its call. Her body twists and contorts, packing on mass. The pressure in the tank increases as her body does the impossible and adds more mass than she should possess. As the rage overtakes her, she slams into the sides of the tank, moon-mad werewolf strength straining to break her free.

Somewhere an alarm goes off and the room is doused in purple-lighting that pulses, but to the wolf that detail is lost. All that matters is the cage it's in and to break out of it. It's meant to hold all manner of beings, some of them excessively strong, but they're also supposed to be unconscious. Still, they're alien metal and translucent material and the wolf rages against it, blotting out 'Tereza' and just sinking into primal instinct until things slowly begin to give, one of the translucent panels slowly being forced from it's mounting until it suddenly springs free, slamming into the opposing wall as the tank spills it's contents on the floor of the circular room. Tereza might have taken note of the other tanks lining the room, but the wolf doesn't care, it only cares about the door.

She slams into the door, intent on knocking it open or down, she doesn't particular care which. She expects someone to come for her. Someone always wants to stop her, but she's ready for them now, claws and... teeth... there's a reason she shouldn't use her teeth, but for the life of her she can't think why.

The door doesn't budge. At least not by slamming into it. There's a line going down the middle of it and something about that seems important. The smells from the other side are a bit stronger on that line. She should know what this means but it's hard to think straight as she's throwing herself against the damn thing...

After a couple of more slams, she pulls back and circles a bit. Her fists slam into some of the other tanks in sheer animal frustration and then she attacks the door again, trying to wedge her claws into the line in the middle of the door, intent on tearing the door apart for its insolence.

It takes some effort but finally the door gives, malformed where she forced her claws in she tears the sliding door open to reveal a short hallway. It looks strange, curved walls of metal that look vaguely organic in their design and the smells are more than odd. But her nose also picks up the scent of cold, fresh air from somewhere.

That smells like outside and that's where she wants to be, not cramped up in this confined space. She chases the cold air scent, not making any pretense to be quiet, secure in her position as the apex predator here.

There's some yelling behind her. Not as important as dashing for the smell of the outside until she reaches a dead end with a surprised humanoid standing there. It doesn't smell like anything she's ever encountered, but more importantly it's standing between her and another one of those doors with the vertical line, this one distinctly smelling like fresh air and a hint of pine forest. The thing seems surprised and startled, saying something in a language that she either doesn't understand or the wolf just plain doesn't care for.

Tereza doesn't hesitate, charging forward to try to slam the creature into the door, liberally applying her claws to the the creature if it resists.

It does resist, though it mostly seems to be going on the defensive. It's body seems to compact and harden as Tereza charges, narrowly managing to dart between her legs to avoid getting smooshed into the door. This one seems to be a bit more robust than the previous one. Thicker. The vertical crack thinner and while she can smell remnants of outside air on the inside of it, she can't smell anything of the outside. Next to the wall are useless blinking lights over some kind of rectangle.

Behind her the small creature swiftly grows larger, thick reptile skin and claws sprout along with the head of some kind of dinosaur-like creature. Thick and armored and rimmed with spikes. It thrusts it's head forward, the horns on it narrowly missing Tereza, but the bulk of it'*s armored head slams her into the door and drives the wind out of her. This thing is definitely not prey.

The head leaves scuffmarks and dents behind on the walls and one bash makes the wall erupt in sparks, Tereza having bashed the armored head into the door control panel. Behind her the door slides open and she stumbles backwards into the fresh air.

Behind her the creature shouts something and gives chase, changing into some kind of lithe cat-like creature. But while it's physique might match Tereza, it doesn't have the natural instincts for it. It trips over the underbrush and roots buried in the snow, doesn't smell the river coming and little by little she loses it in the thick pine woods. It helps that the icy temperature doesn't really bother her, but as she dashes through the woods under the pale moonlight, letting the wolf take the reigns 'Tereza' slips further away form the surface...

Some part of Tereza struggles against the wolf, but the moon is too loud and the need for the wolf too great. Still, it keeps struggling, tugging on the reigns of her mind and trying to at least maintain some shred of her sanity.

In some respects it works, but as the night's moon madness fades and the sun rises over the horizon, Tereza finds herself crouched over the indecipherable remains of some herd animal and still in werewolf form. She tries relaxing, tries all the tricks she knows to shift back, but nothing happens. Another sound catches her attention and she barrels off after it, still hungry and driven by instincts. Another kill, another feast and she curls up under a tree to sleep.

The forest crone had offered a even trade, information for information. Reluctantly Vivienne had agreed. She was in a sour mood as she made her way away from the chicken legged hut. Baba Yaga had been less then helpful, but now Vivienne knew for certain what she was looking for was in the mortal realm.

Vivienne heard the rustle and placed her hand on a near by tree. "Forgive me sister." She softly whispered as she pulled moisture up from the ground through it's roots. With her luck, it was most likely an irritable moose come to trample her for crossing into it's bedding territory. She stood and listened, waiting.

"Oh Tereza...How? When? Wait...Samantha!?" She rippled into blue green and swore under her breath but it was quickly cut off by a sort of choking sound. She took a few deep breaths as her skin recovered it's pink hue.

"I had always thought she was a little too friendly with you." She gave a sad smile.

"You are stuck?" She made a gentle gesture towards Tereza's large furry form.

Vivienne lead Tereza into the freezing river and summoned the waters around them to take them to the nearest Fey touched water gateway. The water soon dropped back to their ankles after a brief sensation similar to an elevator. Viv reoriented herself.

"Calis should be that way." she spoke as she turned then gasped and drew her sword.
