Incoming Transmission

Somewhere in the Indian Ocean

Dimensional calculations are tricky. It's a miracle the device worked at all with that much unaccounted-for weight and no wonder that the ship got thrown a little off-course from where Conduit had intended to go. But whatever the cause, a large space right above the water suddenly contracts and expands rapidly, spitting out a 800-ton warship that lands in the water with a thunderous crash. For a little while that's all and the ship slowly rocks on the waves until it comes to a rest, it's occupants still blissfully unconscious for the moment. Eventually though, people begin to stir, waking up roughly where they'd been before the sudden dimensional departure.

Haley just outside the entrance to the stairwell.

Tosh still on the ruined flightdeck, having collapsed on top of the dinosaur (who, thankfully, doesn't seem to be rousing)

Sam in the corridor just outside Ops.

Will inside the Ops room, collapsed into a pile of clay next to the computer-bank.

Conduit right next to Will.

Bruce groaned as he came to on his uncomfortable dinosaur mattress. As he got up, he woozily said into his comm, "Did anyone get the number of that... that... whatever? Everything kinda went Wonka tunnel there."

Will slowly, laboriously, began reforming himself--what the hell had happened? It felt like someone had marched through his brain.

Sam closes the distance to the ops room.

"I don't know what you thought that'd accomplish, but you're going nowhere."

Like the rest of them, Conduit is only just now coming to and staggering to her feet.

"What? How are you still here? Aww man, I'm still on the ship!? No fair!" she groans when she spots Sam barging through the door. "Why didn't you work?" she yells at the round piece of equipment still partially lodged in the reforming Will. She pulls it out with an almost audible 'plop' and glares at it, then at Sam again. "And you. You pushed me down the stairs! That hurt!"

"You fired a bloody anti-aircraft weapon at us, and you hurt my friend!"

"Pfff! Maybe you shouldn't stand next to aircrafts then. Besides, you took away Mr. Stompy!" she says, her voice also coming out of Tosh's earpiece. "Yeah, I'm talking to you, big guy."

While she's talking the various monitors and consoles in the room spring to life and start displaying various information. Radar maps, GPS coordinates and such. "Oh whoops. Guess you did work." she apologizes to the piece of equipment she's holding. "Man, we're way off course though. The Ruskies are not gonna like this."

"St...step away from them," Will warned Conduit, moving to position himself between her and the consoles.

Haley woozily got to her feet and carefully made her way downstairs and through the corridor to Ops with Sam and conduit. "How 'bout you stop talking to all the god damned machines and start talking to us about why you hijacked this ship...and now us?"

Haley as she heads inside and Tosh as he's standing over the passed out dinosaur might notice the various radar systems on top of the ship slowly rotating and adjusting.

"Hey, I don't care about the dang ship! Well, it's a really cool boat, but whatever. And I sure didn't wanna hijack you 'X-Men'." she says, pronouncing the word like she has no idea what it means or implies. "I was just gonna borrow it to look for something and then you came and dropped it right into my lap." she says, pointing at Will. The whole time she's talking her eyes are glowing faintly but they pretty much always seem to be.

Conduit makes a weird face at Sam, almost as if she finds it weird that Sam thinks being a person is better than being an object.

"You guys are real weird, you know that?"

"We're not the ones stealing a ship and enslaving or killing most of the crew," Haley replied.

"Hey, they shot at me, you know. And I only killed a couple." she shrugs. "Aaaand... I know you told me to stop talkin' to the machines, yeah?" she says, kinda twisting the tip of one boot on the ground. "Now, don't get all fur-monster again buuuut just hypothetically, if I noticed something big on the radar, you know, in theory, then you'd want to know, right?" she says, face kind of scrunched up like she'd just admitted to stealing from the cookie jar.

"Uhh... guys? We're moving. Why are we moving?" Bruce asked as hurried to the stairwell. He crammed himself into the corridor and made a disappointed grunt. "Stupid tiny hallway." It didn't stop him from trying to reach the others.

Tosh would find it a bit claustrophobic but manages to squeeze his Shark-self through the corridors.

Conduit looks as innocent as she can muster. "Welllll, I figure you guys don't know but maybe I should tell you..." she starts, clearly stalling for time. "There's a whole bunch of meanies out there who... maybe don't like me very much. Or people in general. Especially people who drop military destroyers in their water. Now... you might think 'How would she know that?' cause, I mean, this doesn't exactly happen everyday, right? And that's true! It doesn't. At least not with ships. It's usually a buncha other stuff cause those guys are dicks and we're the only ones standing up to them and, well, here's the thing about how I know how they react to these kinda situations? We got a Slipstream Drive, so... Cya later, Buttfaces!" she grins and taps the implant on her temple. Nothing proceeds to happen except for Conduit to grin awkwardly when whatever plan she had doesn't quite shake out. That and the radio crackling to life.

"This is the Carrier Admiral Kuznetsov. Identify yourself and your vessel immediately." a voice in a thick Russian accent demands.

"Oh fudgesicles!"

"Dude! Did she just say Slipstream Drive? Tosh'll be all..." Bruce said as he squeezed in.

He looked as the radio as it squawked. "That can't be good."

"That sounds... weirdly familiar."

Her brows furrow in confusion.

"Will, can you use the radio to give the nice Admiral a good non-crazy person to talk to?"

"Hey!" Conduit objects, fists on her hips. "But, uhm, go ahead, I don't wanna talk to those nutjobs anyway. You know what, you probably shouldn't even tell them I'm here at all. Unless you really wanna fight them. We still got a lotta missiles and torpedoes left if you do though!" she 'helpfully' informs them.

"I'll give it my best," Will nodded, approaching the radio.

"Dasvidaniya Admiral! This is the...Karl Marx. We're experiencing some technical difficulties. Please, for safety, keep your distance for now."

"This... doesn't seem like it's working."

"Maybe it'd be better if we told them a terrorist with teleportation technology hijacked the ship," she eyes Conduit.

"Maybe we should offer the terrorist to them in exchange for them not blowing us the fuck up," Haley suggested, eyeing Conduit.

Will looked back over at Sam and shrugged.

"I repeat, state your security clearance for access to that information."

He put his hand over the microphone. "Yeah, I don't...exactly have a long term plan here. Those ships look tough."

"Incorrect response," the voice responded, "Heave to and prepare to be boarded. Any other action will be taken as sign of hostile intent and you *will* be destroyed."

"Whoa, whoa, hey! Easy there, guys and gals! You really don't wanna tell these guys I'm on this ship. Trust me!" she says, noticeably nervous now. Making the Technopath on the warship twitchy is probably a bad idea, as evidenced by the fact that she's occasionally throwing glances at the missile control station.

"Just... tell 'em you're defecting from somewhere! All their tech is shit, they see this boat and a chance to get it, they might not second guess you too much!"

"Since when do they got Slipstream suppression fields anyway?" Conduit is muttering to somebody, presumably herself in the meantime. "This is bullcrap. Should just launch a missile at them, that oughta take it down for sure. Who cares about what happens to these clowns. No no, wait, I need Greeny to not be on the bottom of the ocean. Frick! Maybe they'll be dumb enough to come into range with their flagship..."

"Mhm, mhm, right. They don't know I'm here so they got no reason not to."

"Yeah. Yeah. Okay, no problem."

When Will talks about a gadget controlling technology she can't help but bark out a laugh. "As if! I don't need no stinking widget to talk to these guys!" she brags, spreading her arms around the room and the consoles beep in unison. "Morons..."

"Bitch, getting real tired of your shit. We can hear you, we're right here." Haley snapped. "Stop debating trying to start a fucking war over whatever psychotic bullshit is going on behind that ugly little face of your's."

Haley was not good at diplomacy.

"Looks like we may not have a choice."

"Haley? On three. One, two..."

On three, Sam shifts back up and tries to cold-cock Conduit with a blow to the back of the head.
