Quarantine Measure

After finding a place for everybody else to help out and showing them to an empty room with four bunks and not much else Shatterstar grabs Will's shoulder.

"I'm afraid before I let you run off by yourself the two of us have something to sort out first." she says, moving Will along through the hallway with a firm grip.

"What is it? Socks?"

"You said Conduit attached a device to you. Do you have any idea what it was?"

"Nothing specific--something about the Wizard of Oz.

Do you have Wizards of Oz here?"

"It's from a movie. Returning home is a big part of it, so it must have been what she used to return here. Still, you can never be too certain with that maniac." she says, leading Will back out to the flight deck.

"She seemed a little maniacal, yes," Will admitted, following her.

"Then I'm sure you'll understand the need for this." she says, raising her hand with her palm inches away from Will's head. A sudden glow turns into a bright flash of light as white energy lances through Will's head, splattering what doesn't get incinerated onto the flight-deck in a smear of grey.

Will staggered back, falling over with a wet, clay thud onto the deck as his head was incinerated.

He lay there, motionless, for a minute, before he began to stir again.

"Wh...wha? What was THAT for?"

"Huh. Good on you, you survived." she says, sounding mildly surprised. "Not all shapeshifters come back from losing their head that easily."

"You're a potential contaminant, like the helicopter, but I didn't think your friends would take very kindly to being treated the same way. They seem the sappy kind."

"Oh, no. None of them can become a tree or anything with sap.

Not even Sam. She's a shifter too, you know, but not a very good one."

"Well thankfully it seems like dear Admiral has already found a use for her, regardless of how good she is at what she does." she says, oozing sarcasm.

"You lost your head with no problem. What else can you handle?" she seems to suddenly change topics.

"I'm not sure I understand the question. I can handle lots of things?"

"Oh, relatively so! You can ask Sam about that; she tried to hunt me down once, and it took her ages."

"Fantastic. Let's see if we can kill two birds with one stone then. Burn out any contaminants Conduit might have left behind and get some exercise." she says, cracking her knuckles.

"Oh, I don't need exercise. I'm really self-sustaining," Will said, misunderstanding.

"But I do. Think fast." she says, a narrow beam of energy lancing out from her outstretched arm, right at Will's chest.

The bolt of energy went right through Will's chest, knocking him back and staggering him.

He drew himself up to his feet and, rather than waiting to hear what was next, booked it across the surface of the carrier.

"Now we're talking." she grins and takes to the air, zooming after Will and throwing blasts of energy his way. Where they miss they only leave minor scorchmarks on the deck but the one hitting Will's leg still blasts right through in a splotch of clay.

Will staggered to the ground, smashing face-first into the deck. His leg slowly began to grown back--notably more slowly than his head or chest wounds grew back. Endurance, apparently, was a thing, as he tried to get on the move again.

"Getting sluggish already?" she shouts as she gains altitude and circles around Will, beams lancing out right in his path.

"Eep!" Will cried, diving behind some boxes conveniently placed on deck.

As much as Shatterstar's gunning for Will, she doesn't actually want to wreck her own flight deck and instead of blasting the crates apart zips around them and behind Will.

Will tried to counter with a punch to Shatterstar, but he wasn't really a trained fighter, per se--at least, not at the moment.

Shatterstar didn't expect him to actually fight back and fails to dodge out of the way. Instead she tries to lead his punch past her and pull him into a Judo throw to send him tumbling across the flight deck.

And that she did! Will splatted against a far wall, tumbling to the ground as he began to reform.

"I...I'm trying" Will complained, seeping into cracks in the deckplates.

"Better! Get creative!" she shouts before sending two bolts of light at the cracks the clay is trying to squeeze into.

A splorch of clay came up, possibly coating Shatterstar, but a significant chunk of the clay continued through the floor.

She wipes the splotches of clay off of her jacket and looks down at the receding blob. "Well played." she says, putting her hand directly on the cracks. Energy begins to seep into the cracks, metal beginning to glow as she tries to flush Will out by super-heating his hiding place.

A faint smell of baking clay drifted up from the cracks--an earthy, not entirely unpleasant aroma.

That was probably fine.

Shatterstars stands back up and looks down at the cracks with a frown. She seems more annoyed with the fact Will managed to get away than concerned about having baked him into the flight deck.

Shatterstar could spy with her one working eye, something that begins with "W" and was looking fairly-well roasted. She could probably pry it out without TOO much work--it had expanded a little, and widened some cracks in the hull.

"Damnit... gonna have to get someone to fix that before it tears a tire off one of the planes." she mutters to herself as she finds a large screwdriver to wrench 'Will' out of the cracks.

Will was a rather awkwardly twisted and melted figure, his features still halfway visible as he had more or less been cooked while halfway shifting.

It'd be an interesting piece of modern art, at least, if it stayed that way.

"Bizarre." she comments a bit dubiously. "You still alive in there?" she adds, almost as an afterthought.

There was some slight, almost imperceptible motion. Apparently, she hadn't quite finished baking him QUITE solid yet; more simply well done.
