"Well, you're extraordinarily useless right now, aren't you? Not much call for decoration on a ship and you're a little abstract for a figurehead..."

Almost as if it took umbrage to being called useless, the piece of baked clay began to crack and squirm in her hands, slowly working it's way towards a more organic-looking shape as it tried to overcome the effects of Shatterstar's beams.

"Didn't like that, did you? What's the matter? Do you want the figurehead gig?" she chuckles.

"nnn...'m useful..." it groaned.

It didn't seem to have suffered any LONG-term damage from Shatterstar's blasts, though it was still slow in reforming.

"You want to be useful? Well, then you better turn into something that's worth putting on the bow of the ship. Or a plane decal."

"F...worth front of the ship?" Will slurred, looking more humanoid now. Barely.

"Sure, why not." she says, not really following why this seems to be important to Will. She's just kind of amused by the idea he might consider that an honor.

"Wh....what...what shhape," he said, his voice slurring a bit as he now looked mostly normal and humanoid. Mostly.

"Eesh, have you never seen a figurehead? Do a mermaid or something."

The clay shifted and twisted oddly in Shatterstar's hands, returning to a fully humanoid and appropriately eye-catching figurehead shape.

Of course, that also meant that it grew in MASS to be a sturdy figurehead, and that would be a HELL of a lot heavier than the simple clay object d'art she had been holding previously.

Shatterstar's pretty buff, but the speed with which the weight in her hand increases catches her off-guard. The figurehead clangs on the metal deck before she can get both hands on it to hold it.

"Little warning next time."

There was a tiny chip on the mermaid's forehead, but it was repairing itself quite nicely.

"Well, you asked..." it said, in a pouty voice.

"Shut up." she says, flying over to the bow of the ship and dragging Will behind.

"I take it you're resourceful enough to figure out how to stick to the metal." she says, hoisting Will up against the front of the ship right underneath the lip of the flight-deck. "So hang tight."

Shatterstar could watch as the metal and plastic of Will's mermaid body fused itself with the ship, seeping in and blurring the line as to where ship ended and figurehead began.

"I'll show you. I can totally do this," she said.
