Drake received an e-mail from his "Dad"; a perfectly innocuous email that wouldn't have drawn the attention of anyone in particular had someone been reading his e-mail, nope. Drake was, after all, a perfectly normal person, and definitely not a secret Genoshan spy.

And embedded in the header of the e-mail, only accessible if decoded with a specific program that Drake certainly did not have access to, there certainly wasn't an extra message. No one was told that someone important was going to be arriving at 3 o'clock in the morning to speak with him. And if someone was coming, it wouldn't have been about matters of Genoshan interest. Certainly not an intriguing meeting from an unidentified foreign power who had a tantalizing offer for a situation that could help both their nations.

The message certainly would not go on to say that Drake's job, at this meeting, would be to evaluate his contact for sincerity, and to see if whatever they were offering was worth the risk to Genosha. Nor that he was trusted, implicitly, to make decisions on the spot, as they were under the impression that this was rather a time-sensitive endeavor.

None of that was in the message, which was probably for the best.
