"You do realize," she slurred, possibly trying to copy her roommate's accent, "that you tried to rip out my throat, so I'm not the one in the wrong."

"Just a little..." she says, but she does have the decency to sound like she feels bad about it.

"So...am I going to grow fangs and want to drink people now or something?" she slurred, slumped against the wall. "How did this even happen?"

"I don't think that's how it works. Fuck, I don't know..." she says, running her hand through her still-wet hair. "For all I know getting roughed up by a bunch of goons is an integral part of... it..." she trails off as something occurs to her and she grabs her own wrist to feel her pulse.

"Oh those groddy piss-artists! They didn't toss me out. They dumped my body!"

“...you...you got killed by those guys?”

Maybe it was just the blood loss, but Haley could swear Miriam's mental presence felt slower or sluggish, like she wasn't thinking as fast as a normal person. That obviously wasn't the case, so maybe it was just the blood loss.

"First my friend is a werewolf...now my roommate is a vampire...this place gets weirder every day," she mumbled, distracted by the difference in her roommate's thought patterns, her control even shittier than normal thanks to the blood loss.

"You even feel like. Slower..." she tapped her temple with her bloodstained hand, "Up here."

Miriam glares at her but mostly because she's angry in general already. "I'll let that slide because I owe you one." she says as she tries her best to seem dignified while drinking blood from a soda-can. It doesn't work.

Haley doesn't seem to pay much mind to the glare. "I don't get it. You don't even sparkle," she mumbled.

"And here I thought my night couldn't get any worse..." she groans.

“Are you sad you don’t sparkle too?” Haley slurred.

"I'm not even standing in the sun!" Miriam snaps before she notices the slurred speech. She sighs and presses her palms against her temples for a moment. "Are you going to be okay?"

"I don't know," she replied woozily. "I hope so."

"What's it like having fangs?"

Haley's head lolled to the side and down, and then snapped back upright. "Really tired. Probably shouldn't sleep though. Can you bring me that cheeseburger? Maybe food will make me strong."

"What? I don't..." she stops to run her tongue over her teeth and even though she tries to hide it visible jerks a little when she finds sharp incisors. "Bloody hell... It's fucking weird is what it is..." she mumbles as she hands Haley one of the burgers and takes another undignified sip from the can. She really just wants pour the damn thing down her throat but that would be even worse. And on some level it helps that she can pretend the full velvety taste has a distinct metallic tang to it because of the can. Sure, that makes sense. Just some really... thick grape soda. With no fizz and near body-temperature. It's not working very well, especially since she can feel the can being warm in her hand and it feels strangely good.

Haley groggily munched on the hamburger.

"Are they always going to be there?" she said after swallowing. "Do you hate garlic now? What about crucifoxes...fuxes?..."

She snorted and giggled. "Fuxes."

"Do you think I'm pretty, or did you just want to eat me....well. like. Actually eat me. Not the other kind."

"How the hell would I know?" she says, rolling her eyes at the immature joke.

"And of course you're pretty. I don't think I could stand being in a relationship with you, but you're pretty alright."

Haley smiled, seemingly pleased with her roommate's response.

"If you promise to put up with me, and stop yelling at me, and not eat me, I won't tell anyone about this."

Haley makes good life choices
