Shane sat at a cafeteria table, frowning angrily as he ate. He wanted to join the teams but was too afraid of his powers to try, and this pissed him off.

Alex sat across from Shane, looking a bit concerned at Shane's anger. "Someone spit in your food roomie? Or do the eggs taste that bad? 'Cause I got a double serving."

"That's worrying. Have you ever gotten it looked at by a doctor?" His thoughts quickly turned to always active mutations, that Shane might have an ingrown plant beneath his skin. The fact that it was below his heart was a cause for concern.

"Heh, alright, guessing nothing is ingrown then." Or maybe it was and there was nothing to be done about it. It was an interesting dilemma and he'd like to help Shane through it. The only question was how.
