Sam stalks into the lobby, glancing briefly at the Christmas tree before flopping dejectedly into one of the nearby chairs.

She pulls out her phone and starts texting.

Yeah, you looked a little...out of sorts the voice continued, coming from the general direction of the Christmas tree.

Will had not twigged (ha!) into Sam being surprised that he was there at all.

I'm fairly sure the headmistress wasn't planning on doing anything for Christmas. I arranged and organized all of this, because it's important.

Three things about that:

Trees are expensive! Especially massive, multiple-story trees.

I'm also a hell of a lot better than you're just going to find randomly around; no bald patches or bent branches or anything like that. I'm high-quality.

Also, I, uh, don't exactly have anything else to do this year...
