In The Middle Of Our Street

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as classroom space for the University. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for University students on a meal plan. The old library has been bolstered with college textbooks.

In The Middle Of Our Street

Postby Miranda Weaver » Mon Mar 18, 2019 9:51 pm

After a short flight from the Point, Miranda lands outside the mish-mashed manor, trying to make sense of the spatial distortions around it and where the Institute student dorm should be. Unfortunately, she's having very little luck in that regard.

"Headmaster?" Sam says, looking at her phone as she navigates the confusing hallways. "What the bloody hell is he on?"

That catches Miranda's attention and she shakes her head trying to sort out perceptions and possibilities of this person walking her way. "Mum?," asks the confused woman who is obviously older than Sam is.

The flock bristles at that, and Sam's gaze snaps to Miranda.

She reacts to the flock by pressing the button on the cylinder in her hand, the device snapping out into a metal staff, though it seems more reflex than aggression. "No... Sorry... So disorienting here. You are... but you're not."

"I... yes. I'm Miranda Weaver-McManus. I teach students at Xavier's Institute in Maldon. It's on the same campus as Xavier's University." The way she recites it, it's almost like a centering ritual and she seems to recover herself a bit.

"I don't think he was conscious all those years under the ice-cap and he was a blank slate when the government found him. But his Sam put this sort of... box in his mind? To keep the important bits of him safe."

"Miranda!"

The clatter of brooms and mops as Will slammed her way out of the closet, ending up sprawled at the feet of the two women, would catch the attention of anyone else within this hallway.

She was grinning like an idiot as she tried to stand up, righting herself, though her feet were still caught in the debris.

"Oh my god, Miranda! How are you...WHY are you here?!

Sam, Samsamsam. Sam -- this is Miranda! This is my..." she paused, counting off on her fingers, "ok, let's just stick with niece for now, Miranda! Oh my God.

Miranda--this is Sam! She's been a huge help since I've been here."

She was going a mile a minute.
