Jez made an effort to stand, and really she was strong enough to do it, but she just wasn't stable enough to maintain her balance right now. She might be someone who talks some big talk and spent a lot of her time fighting and protesting for various social rights, but even she can get overwhelmed at times.

"...s'not fair." She softly whined between sobs as she tried to regain her footing, using Nika now to brace herself.

"No. No it is not," Katarina said, awkwardly stroking Jez's hair.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez looked to Katarina pitifully. “Why is it always us? Why are we the ones who are always the targets for... whatever?”

[Katarina Karkov]

"I...do not know," Katarina frowned. "Perhaps it is a test of sorts."

[Nika Novak]

"Life's not fair. It's how you deal with that that matters and you dealt with it pretty admirably, I have to admit." Nika says as she turns slightly and unceremoniously reaches back to grab Jez by the thighs and hoist her up and onto her back.

Jez let out a whoop as she was picked up, her arms wrapping around Nika’s neck and shoulders. The sniffles were broken up by some uneasy laughter, the “guh” kind that came out when your throat was still in crying mode.

“Oh my, this’s turning into one of my fanfics.”

"Then why don't you tell us about them?" Katarina said, trying to get Jez's mind off of their situation.

[Nika Novak]

"<I have died and actually gone to hell.>" Nika says in Symkarian with a bit of gallows-humor.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Wellllll I could, but it doesn't really make a lot of sense if you don't watch Steven Universe and know the characters of Jasper and Peridot. Oh, and if you don't know what oviposition is, do you?"

"I can never tell when you are being serious."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jezabelle actually started to smile. Well, more of a Cheshire grin.

"That means you DO know what it means..."

"I know many things, I am sure you will find," Katarina said, neither confirming nor denying.

[Nika Novak]

"That means she doesn't, really." Nika provides 'helpfully' as they're trekking across the kitchen floor.

"So she doesn't know about Gem Egg Hell? Oh alright, well once upon a time...."
