"Not everything about religion is about what happens after you die." Robin says with a comically low version of Will's voice, clearly quoting or paraphrasing. As to where her voice is coming from remains a mystery, at least until Drake's tray suddenly grows a maw that devours a whole plate worth of his food as it rises out of the plastic tray and reforms into Robin, chewing a ridiculous amount of food before swallowing it with a cartoonish bulge passing through her neck.

"Free food, best food." she grins before hopping off the table and onto one of the chairs.

Drake cried out and fell backwards onto the floor. He shot back up with a cat's "I totally meant to do that" expression that immediately darkened.

Hey! That was my breakfast!" he shouted angrily.

Robin's grin falls away when she notices Drake actually being mad. "Hey, relax, it's just food."

His anger softened, but the fire of even a dragon's mild anger wasn't so easily snuffed out once kindled.

"Food I was eating," he said with an irritated huff and a faint wisp of smoke from his nostrils.

"Apologize to the nice dragon man before he kidnaps you and we have to go to Mount Doom or something, Robin."

"Since you'll be staying here for a while, you have to remember that people are less used to, uh, our sort of shenanigans, and generally, don't take it as lightly. Different universal constants."

"It's more people tend to blanche when you dehydrate people in front of them," Will said, raising one eyebrow.

"I do owe someone a Coke, though -- I figured it'd be two weeks before you popped in again, and you juuust squeaked in under the wire."

"You are forgiven," Drake said, apparently mollified as the smoke ceased.

"Now... what's this about different dimensions?"

"It's a long story, but Robin and I don't originate here. We're visitors, for a while."

"Extra-dimensional time-travelers." Robin nods very matter-of-factly. "And that was for your own good, Dad, so what else can I say except you're welcome."

"Extra-dimen... DAD?" he blurted out, head swiveling to look at Will, "Seriously dude, how old and mysterious are you?"

"Quite and very, respectively. I've been a round a bit, and probably left my sanity a few orbits back."

"Flip out's such a harsh way to put it..." Robin mumbles to herself.

"Just a tip for future reference -- Kugar doesn't exist yet. So the logo on the punching bag was a bit of a tip-off. You gotta go retro with those trademarks at the moment, snickerdoodle."

"Retro. More like antiquated. You'll get rusty one of these days, old man!"

"I've gotten rusty before, on stakeouts. Long shower afterwards, and all that.

Are you holding up alright? I will give you kudos; out of Sam, yourself, Bruce, Tosh and Ennio, you're the first one to come in and re-check. Oh, and the wolves too, can't forget them."

"You've still not told me what went on in there, exactly. I'm just working on blind faith that I'm OK over here.

And don't worry if you're freaked out about it. Your mother did not like her few trips in there. Rachel swore that she'd never step foot in it again at one point, and would never tell me exactly what happened."

"If it was anything like the sewers I got yeeted into then yeah, that seems about right. The Wonka Factory seemed fun but by the time I got there all I could really smell was memories of people yelling at you for shifting. A lot. But thanks for the mental impressions of Victoria's naked ass on a blanket or jacket or something." she says, sticking out her tongue and turning comically green in the face. "Yuck!"

"Sorry, Drake!" Will called out after the departing dragon. "We'll catch up soon!"

"Memories of people yelling at me for shifting, hrm? I've been told I have a lot of that... Sam wasn't entirely wrong when she says I keep a lot bottled up inside."

Not much worse, mind you," he joked.

"Well I have already seen way too much. Not cause it's inherently bad or anything, but cause you're my Dad. Like walking in on you and Mum. Blech!" she makes and exaggerated retching sound. Then coughs for real and hacks up a cafeteria fork.

"A little. Not in a bad way, I don't think, just... in an annoying growing-up kinda way where you realize that your parents are people too and that they definitely did some stuff you do not want to think about. You've always been kind of... larger than life, even when you're tiny like right now, and it's weird to think that there's stuff that gets to you so much. You're supposed to be invincible."

Re: Together at Last

He chuckled. "Not invincible, no. I just heal up nice and good, given enough time. And pancakes.

I don't think I did anything you don't want to think about, did I? I mean, I had some nasty things happen to me, and I've had some nasty things said to me..."
