[Plot] Rules are Rules

What, you think the school is going to risk the wrath of the Morrigan? And, for that matter, her crazy vampire friend, and their friend, a chair?

[Samantha McManus]

"Honestly, if they want to be sticklers for the rules I'd like to see them follow the same ones, aye?"

[Will Stanton]

Being a teacher's pet has always come with it's privileges, I suppose. Still! You think they'd give us a LITTLE leeway.

[Zandra Rogers]

"Seems like you ass-butts started without me," Zandra said, as she zipped into the room, plopping down on the Will-chair. "Man, we've got, like, half your floor here, don't we?"

[Ghost]

"Zandra. What are you doing here?" Ghost asks flatly.

[Miriam Bell]

"If you really do believe in this War Goddess stuff, and god help me maybe you actually are, then you have got to realize that you ought to pick your battles if you want to win a war. It's detention. Save the fight for something that matters."

[Samantha McManus]

"Who do you think got half of us in here?"

[Zandra Rogers]

"Yeah, well, when you put all the bad eggs in one carton, you might as well toss the whole thing out," Zandra said, spinning around in her chair.

"I'm here 'cause I don't think your tall, dark and spooky state is necessarily up to the task, Ghost."

[Will Stanton]

OK, noted for future reference -- if you're going to be running around all day, more than one shower would be preferable. Ugh.

[Ghost]

"They're here, aren't they." Ghost says, little to no emotion in their voice. Their living shadow however is swirling around their feet in coils, writhing.

[Zandra Rogers]

"Yeah, and what do you have them doing? Geometry homework or something? Laaaaaaaaaame," Zandra said, continuing to spin around in the chair.

[Ghost]

"One of them is being a chair." Ghost points out.

[Zandra Rogers]

"And a shitty one, at that. Gotta flunk him in your report," Zandra said, slamming her foot against the base of the chair.

"But, like, I've got Weaver actually helping out by doing the laundry, and I had Weaver help out in the cafeteria...Weaver gets in a ton of trouble, now that I think about it. And you've got McManus and Bell, what, gossiping in here? This is why you don't get invited to the cool parties, Ghost."

[Ghost]

"It seems to bother Morrigan plenty." Ghost simply points out while the darkforce-snake raises it's head as if to hiss at Zandra.

[Zandra Rogers]

"That true, Red? You hate the concept of doing schoolwork at a school?" Zandra said, trying to shoo away the darkforce snake.

[Samantha McManus]

"I just think it's asinine to be issuing detention at a bloody university."

[Zandra Rogers]

"Look, Red, I get you, I understand you, I'm with you. But y'all broke the rules, and there's gotta be some kind of consequence for it. So I don't think it's really fair for you lot to be down on how Ghost chooses to execute that punishment, just because she's a boring fuddy-duddy with no sense of creativity whatsoever," Zandra said, with a smirk.

"Just be happy it's not Quinn; he'd probably have you go around apologizing to everyone individually."

[Ghost]

"They." Ghost simply says, their shadow-creature swirling up around their torso until it's perched on their shoulders

"And I'm not the one who send those two to detention, Zandra."

[Zandra Rogers]

"What, you're upset at what I freakin called it, spookypants? I was suggesting they weed somethin' or polish somethin' or give the janitors a day off. You're the one who decided to go all little Mx. Schoolmarm on 'em. Hey, if that's what gets you off, that's what gets you off, I guess."

[Ghost]

"It is a school. Don't take it out on me that Weaver caved in your nose."

[Zandra Rogers]

"Hey, I beat Weaver. You needed extra time to track down ol Greeny here."

[Miriam Bell]

"Are you two just about done bickering? I'm trying to write a bloody essay here."

[Zandra Rogers]

"Shhhhhh. Grownups are talking," Zandra said, dismissively. "I could get you some rice grains to count, if you wanted."

[Samantha McManus]

"Should just let them fight. Maybe they'll take it out in the hallway."

[Zandra Rogers]

"What a surprise, the self-proclaimed war goddess suggests solving things via the medium of punching. We should put that on the bloody brochures: 'Come to Xaviers! Meet the Mutants! They might break your fuckin' nose!'"

[Samantha McManus]

"Let's be frank, Zandra. That ship has sailed, and you can't blame that one on me."

[Ghost]

"Maybe if you spend less time around werewolves you'd realize that it is not. Is that why you saw me retrieving Stanton as violent? Do you need to go back to counseling? I understand you were at Muir before. Twice."

Their tone is flat but that doesn't necessarily make what Ghost is saying any less vicious.

[Miriam Bell]

"Hey!" Miriam snaps at that from behind Sam before going on a little quieter. "She's only here because she was trying to help me the other night."

[Zandra Rogers]

"And you were only in trouble because you were sneaking around behind our backs about things, Bella."

[Miriam Bell]

"Oh sod off! I'm here, aren't I?"

[Zandra Rogers]

"Yup! You're here, and Red's here, and Chesterfield's here, and we're all super-smooth, right? Do the crime, pay the time, and we're all happy-smiley friends at the end of it."

[Miriam Bell]

"Yeah, everything's great."

[Zandra Rogers]

"Fantastic," Zandra said, nodding at Ghost.

A common enemy had, at least for the moment, put an end to inter-acolyte fighting, and Zandra landed back on the chair with a hard thump.

[Zandra Rogers]

After a while of everyone in the room generally behaving themselves well, Zandra clearly got bored.

"Welp, I'll leave the two of you and your fascinating essay-writing skills to Ghost's capable hands. Got things to go, people to see," Zandra said, picking up the chair and heading for the exit. "Maybe you'll think twice about trying to pull the wool over our eyes now."
