Nailah barely makes it to an empty table with her plate of food. She's hunched over, with dark rings under her eyes and numerous bandages, mostly on her hands. She sits down and puts her head down on the table for juuuust a second and she promptly falls asleep, waking up with a start when she begins to slide out of her chair. She blinks sleepily and forces herself to pick up her fork and shovel some food into her mouth.

"Eesh. What happened to you?" Tosh asked as he sat across from her with his usual super-meal. He still had a small bandage on one arm.

"Pretty much. Every once in a while something in my brain just clicks and I can dodge her but usually not. But the worst part is that she knows I can dodge her so she doesn't pull any punches. So that's been my last couple mornings between 5 and 8 because apparently sleep is for losers."

"It's like... my brain goes 'I really don't want to get punched' and then it's like I just know what to do. Like, put my foot there, her fist is gonna go right past my head, turn that way, she'll be unbalanced for a second, punch her in that exact spot, she'll fall over. Except it all just kinda happens and then I don't know how I did it."

"Be right back then!" he said as he got up and walked off. He soon returned with a steaming cup and slid it and a couple of sugar packets over to her. "In case I didn't put enough."

Nailah is actually asleep again with her head on the table by the time he comes back, but she jolts awake when he puts the cup down.

"Thanks... you're a life-saver." she says, pulling the cup over and taking a careful sip as to not burn her mouth.
