"Agreed," he nodded. Raising a hand palm up, he grew out a thin vine. He gripped it in both hands and, with a little work, tore off a length of it. He tossed the slightly twitching thing onto the table and reabsorbed the remainder.

"Creepy right?"

"Sure. Certainly doesn't look pleasant." she says, carefully pulling off her glove and picking up the twitching piece of vine. Nothing happens. "Yep, that's a plant."

It was already slowing, curling in on itself as the residual influence that animated it faded.
