[Activity] Shifting Tones

"Space Drift, yeah..." she slowly nods along and eventually brings up her saxophone to play along.

[Will Stanton]

After a minute, Will reached for his standard bass and started jamming along, letting the track reach it's end and then continuing on, shifting from the Fleetwood Mac chord progression to Shane's more standard blues-rock chords.

A couple of them clashed, Shari's bright saxophone playing occasionally coming up against the flats and minor notes in the blues, but not exceptionally so -- in fact, the clashes sort of worked. It definitely was a step away from Zeppelin-esque stuff, but in a way that sounded modern, exciting and interesting. It may not be exactly what Shane had pictured when he was writing the song, but it seemed like it just might work...

[Shane Marsh]

"Well, it's becoming a bit of a stylistic mishmash but I'd be lying if I said it didn't kind of work," Shane said after some consideration.

[Will Stanton]

"I think with a little fine tuning, we have ourselves a band. Deferring to your stuff, of course," he nodded.

[Shane Marsh]

"Yeah. Now to settle on a name and finish the setlist. Really bloody wanting to try our hands at Watchtower now that we've landed on space minstrel blues-rock."

"And I can't believe I just said that barmy combination of words."

[Shari]

"All music's a mish-mash. Isn't that the point?"

[Shane Marsh]

"I mean, you're not wrong exactly."

"Oh! Will, what about that badass version from BSG? Could be great for a starting point for sax parts."

[Will Stanton]

"Could do, could do," Will said, thinking it over. "Need to hook up some pretty heavy effect pedals, but it's workable."

[Drake Martin]

"As for a name... what about Blue Shift?" Drake supplied, "Or if you want something more in line with the fantasy element. The Kingkillers. Please tell me at least one of you has read those books"

[Will Stanton]

Will shrugged. "Shane's band, Shane should get final say. I'm fine with either of those."

[Shane Marsh]

Shane shifted his faux-clothes into something more bardic, with a vaguely futuristic and definitely rock n' roll inspired red-trimmed vest and pointed bard hat. To that, he added a black cloak that looked like it was made of flower petals.
