Issue 2: I Hope You're Not Expecting ME To Clean This Up

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as classroom space for the University. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for University students on a meal plan. The old library has been bolstered with college textbooks.

Issue 2: I Hope You're Not Expecting ME To Clean This Up

Postby Narrator » Mon Jul 27, 2015 8:09 pm

The students who first came in for breakfast on September 19th would find that there was a very good assortment of food available.

Unfortunatly, it was all over the place. Maple syrup covered the walls and floor, egg yolks were running down everywhere, chocolate pudding covered the tables and chairs. It was like someone had set off a bomb in the breakfast bar.

His first breakfast in the outside world, and this happens.

"...what the..." Chase commented, dumbstruck.

"Oh holy cow, that's one heck of a prank!"

Nailah seems to be impressed at the very least, judging by her tone and how she's looking around the room.

He swept his gaze across the room again, instinctively using his training to pay closer attention to detail.

Movement!

Or was it movement? In the corner, behind the counter where the lunch people normally dished out the foods, Chase could have SWORE he saw something.

Chase put a finger to his lips to advise quiet. Then he took care to not step on anything as he quietly moved around the food counter to take a look.

Someone had rigged the cabinet in some way. Apparently, opening it triggered the trap.

The trap was a cream pie. The target was the face of the person opening the cupboard.

"What th--" The rest of the sentence is swallowed up by the creampie splotching into Nailah's face. She stumbles backwards and manages to step onto a pile of scrambled eggs, waving her arms as she falls on her butt.

Nailah wipes filling from her eyes and face and flicks it to the ground. She looks kinda pissy for a moment, but then bursts out laughing as well.

"That probably looked hilarious, huh?" she says, still chuckling.

It was spring-loaded, apparently, set to activate whenever someone opened the door.

The trap itself seemed to be made out of things you'd find around the kitchen--bent pieces of silverware, for example. Clearly an improvised weapon.

Flip! And on went the lights.

And on went the ovens. And the blenders. And the coffee makers. And the dishwasher. And the microwaves. And the ice maker on the refrigerator. And the toasters, spewing out toast. and the food processors. It was pandemonium.

Haley pushed open the door the cafeteria with her TK, both hands on her phone texting and eyes glued to the tiny screen. It was only when she slipped on a syrup-drenched piece of French toast that she noticed anything amiss--as she fell flat on her back and landed with a wet squelch in what seemed to be a pool of tapioca pudding.

"Mother FUCKER," she yelled in frustration.
