I2DT - Agony Brings No Reward

Tereza went through the line, getting a very sparse breakfast. She filled up a couple of glasses with water and then positioned herself with her back to a corner of the room. She started mechanically eating her breakfast, watching the room like a hawk.

Vivienne moved down the line easily, modern food had become comforting. There wasn't much one can do to eggs and toast that would make it not look like eggs and toast.

A smile tries to cross Tereza's face when she sees Viv, but the clouds of her mood cover it up again quickly and she goes back to eating.

"Yes. Many are still healing from the Blight infestation. Your former home has been on your mind quite a bit lately." She moved her hand over a glass of water and a tiny dancer began to pirouette across the surfaces of each glass before diving back into its' original container.

Tereza drops the volume of her voice. "First some of my old life comes back to haunt me, now Sam's been in my head and she says there's something that has been hiding in there and she doesn't know for how long."

Tereza looked at her hand, fighting a confused look on her face. Then she squeezed Vivienne's hand. "Thank you," she said very quietly.

"Old friends from bad times seem to be looking for me. And I'm afraid of what they will do to get to me." She looked up at Viv, "And who they might hurt."

"I am not as helpless as one may think." She smiled. "And I am not truly human, Tereza."

Her smile faded, her tone serious. "I would have no problem pulling all moisture from a being in order to protect myself and those I care for."

She thought for a second, "I don't know that I would technically call it remorse. I'm not sorry that I had to do it. It was necessary at the time."
