An Open Lunch Thread

[Carlos Vasquez]

Carlos sat down at lunch, picking through some sort of plate full of pasta, somewhat dubiously.

"Stab that piece some more, I think it's still alive," Trev chuckled sitting down across from his roommate.

[Will Stanton]

"Hrm? Oh, heya Trev,' Carlos chuckled. "What's new?"

[Trev Anderson]

"Same shit different day, man. What about you?"

[Carlos Vasquez]

"I know what you mean. It's worse when you wake up every three hours with a splitting headache, you know?"

[Trev Anderson]

"I'm not sleep screaming on you or something am I?" he joked, but looked a bit concerned still. "I sleep like the dead so I've never really noticed you getting up, man."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"No, no, you've been fine. Just the aftermath of a head injury, I'm afraid. Someone decided to grind my face into pulp."

[Trev Anderson]

"I read the debriefing. Sounded like a hell of a fight." Trev frowned, tucking into a salad for a change.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"More surprising to find two of our teammates there, if you ask me. Suspicious."

[Trev Anderson]

"Raises some questions at least...but I mean. We've got a bunch of telepaths here...I'm sure we'd be able to tell if they weren't really on our side. Right?" Trev asked, munching on his salad thoughtfully.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Eh, I don't know how all that crazy mind stuff works, you know? I just go by what I can see."

[Trev Anderson]

"I hear you. Telepaths freak me out. Totally unprepared for mutant-powered dating," Trev joked.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"And, of course, if you find yourself attracted to a telepath, how do you know that's coming from you?"

[Trev Anderson]

Trev stopped chewing, a look of concern on his face. "Man, you're totally right. And. And what if they know that you have a thing for them. Or worse have had fantasies about them. God damnit. I need to pay more attention in those psychic defense training modules."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Soul of ice, my friend. Find a calm, cool center, and you can be in control of your thoughts."

[Trev Anderson]

"The only cool center I can find is the filling of an ice cream sandwich," Trev joked.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Well, then, look forward to having your brain rummaged through by our classmates," Carlos joked.

[Trev Anderson]

Trev chuckled, though there was a bit of concern in his eyes still. "My only defense will be Monty Python sketches running repeatedly through my mind."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"You sure you ever actually watched Monty Python?" Carlos said, trying to suppress a grin.

[Trev Anderson]

"Point taken," Trev laughed.
