"Yer an active person. A go getter. A team leader even.

I'm a passive. Nothing wrong with either, but only another lazy ass person like myself would get the appeal I think."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Well...yes, that makes sense, I suppose. I am sorry for asking about it, then."

[Emilie]

"Never stop asking questions." Emilie replied, seemingly relaxed, and not at all offended. She was actually smiling, perhaps even acting a bit oblivious to the concept that Carlos may have been feeling her out.

" And no apologies needed. You'll just have to be extra super amazing guy to counterbalance my lack thereof so the universe can remain in check. " She laughed.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Look, I'm not sure why you keep complimenting me here," Carlos said, more confused than ever. "Are you coming on to me?"

[Emilie]

"Uuhhh no." She was still smiling, though more out of awkwardness. " I am being nice. Trust me when I say if I was hitting on you, you wouldn't have to ask , you would know."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"...Alright then," Carlos said, still very confused.

[Emilie]

" Do you talk to girls often Carlos?" Emilie asked.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Yes, I do."

[Emilie]

"Do most of them flirt with you?" The question did not sound accusatory, more curious.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Normally only when I flirt with them, first."

[Emilie]

"So is that why I am confusing you? Are you trying to flirt with me?" Still, no judgment to her voice, just an honest question.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Um, no. No, I'm not."

[Emilie]

Emilie continued to smile but held in her amusement as she thought it might hurt the very confused kid's feelings.

"Has a girl never complimented you without expecting a compliment or something else back before? "

[Carlos Vasquez]

"You know, I think I'm just going to go," Carlos said, picking up his tray.

[Emilie]

"I'm sorry." Emilie frowned. " I am not trying to hurt your feelings. Please don't leave."
