At the next table, Kayla sat, surrounded by a cadre of her hangers-on. They were talking and laughing, at an elevated volume.

Several other students were glancing over, uncomfortable and getting irritated.

With Diego's sensitive hearing, tuning out the bitchy obnoxiousness was impossible. So, he brought out his smart phone and portable speaker. He casually set them up, turned up the volume and selected an obnoxious but appropriate song.
