"Not really... Should it?"

[Natalie Denisov]

"For most people, steaming coffee would at least sting," Natalie shrugs, like it's not a big deal. "Maybe your powers keep it from hurting?"

[Shari]

"They are pretty amazing, so..." she smirks. "I dunno, heat just has never really bothered me as much as the cold."

[Natalie Denisov]

"Interesting. I'm sure someone in the infirmary would help you figure out why that is, if it's related to your mutation."

[Shari]

"Yeah... but then I'd have to let people poke and prod me. Sounds annoying."

[Natalie Denisov]

"True. But sometimes poking and prodding it the way things get figured out."

[Shari]

"But if my tolerance for heat remains unexplained it'll add to my air of mystique." she grins.

[Natalie Denisov]

"I suppose there's something to be said for that. Personally, I want to understand how things work, but that's probably just a facet of my own abilities."

[Shari]

"Convenient but boring. I guess that's some peoples' cuppa tea." she teases.

[Natalie Denisov]

"I'm not... boring," Natalie says, a little flustered.

[Shari]

"Hey, there's nothing wrong with boring. I hear boring people can live long and fulfilled lifes too with a little luck." she goes on, because she doesn't necessarily know when to cut it off with the jokes.

That seems to depress Natalie's mood significantly. "Well, one can always hope," she say with a flat smile.

[Shari]

That at least Shari notices. "Oh, hey, come on, I'm just messing around. I'm sorry..."

[Natalie Denisov]

"No, no. It's alright," she says, trying to wave it off. "My power's cool and everything, but it's no shapeshifting or super strength or anything flashy. It's never going to be flashy, so understanding it inside and out is all I've really got, you know?"

[Shari]

"Oh. Ooh!" Suddenly that time Natalie walked out on her and Alex made a lot more sense. "No, I think I get it. But I bet there's a way to make yours flashy too, at least for a bit! We just gotta find it!"

[Natalie Denisov]

"I looked while I was at the Institute and finally gave up," she says with a sigh. "Just resigned myself to being a reserve team member."

[Shari]

"Hmm..." she says, tapping her lips as she thinks. "Well I can't think of a way to turn you into a combat powerhouse. But if you wanna make talking to computers look awesome and flashy for a while I think I got an idea..." she grins.

[Natalie Denisov]

Natalie looks dubious, though there's some interest hiding in her eyes, "You're teasing me again."

[Shari]

"I swear I'm not! I just gotta figure out the best way to do it." she nods.

[Natalie Denisov]

"Well, if you figure it out, let me know." She finishes the last of her coffee.

[Shari]

"On a completely and totally unrelated note, what kinda music do you like?"

[Natalie Denisov]

"Mostly techno and dance type stuff."

[Shari]

"Perfect! Don't make any plans for Friday night then."

[Natalie Denisov]

"Umm... okay," Natalie says in the tone of someone who wouldn't have had plans on any given Friday night.

[Shari]

"Cool. I will see you then!" she grins.
