Sean had buried himself in work both school and magic related. Things on campus had been feeling odd as of late and he dragged himself out of his workshop. He wasn't sure what it was and for some reason he found himself staring at the front of the library lost in thought.

"You know," Sam says, coming up behind him, "it's probably still going to be there if you blink."

"I mean, I know object permanence may have taken a hit with what happened at the Point and all, but..."

"W-what..," Sean said snapping out of his reverie and turning towards Sam. "Oh, quite... Just couldn't help but expect it to sprout wings and fly off while carrying on
about some underking of books."

Sean was apparently a rambler.

"Yeah, even here you get sent for an evaluation for believing magic is a real and fundamental part of reality," Sean said knowingly. "You'd think in a place where people already shoot lightning out of their arses they'd be a bit more accepting, but perhaps picturing politicking with pixies is a bit... problematic."

"Suppose it would be different if there were more than a handful or two of mortal mages running around," Sean shrugged. "Or if the supernatural society hadn't hid itself so well in all the nooks and crannies of the human world."

Sean thought back to the envelope, the man who'd given it to him, and the odd sense of familiarity. The odder sense that the page belonged to him and the need to find more of the pages.

He said it was my birthright. Whatever that is supposed to mean.

"Just... an odd feeling I've been having," Sean said unsure how to put it into words. "Like the pieces of a puzzle are all here in front of me and I can't make them fit together because I don't know what the puzzle is supposed to look like at the end."

"It's bloody frustrating, aye?" Sean sighed. "Somebody forgot to include a user manual or at least not give it to you piecemeal by randomly tossing mysterious posh people saying "birthright" this and "birthright" that at you."

"And yet not the creepiest magic related thing to have happened to me," Sean said, "But yeah, suspicious, and lacked the usual magical contract trap... which makes it even more bloody suspicious really."

"That's amazing. True werewolves are supposed to be incredibly rare... Er, I mean is she new faculty or did she just wander onto campus?" Sean asked.

"That's... well, incredible really," Sean said, "Terrifying no doubt for your girlfriend and for you, but incredible. I could try to help if you wanted, but I'm not sure how easily such a thing could be reversed if your girlfriend even wanted it reversed."

"Oh god, this is going to get embarrassing, isn't it?"

"I guess when I'm... in the zone, or whatever you call it, I like... violence. I like things that can cause it. Weapons, predators, that sort of stuff. Something like a fistfight has a music to it. A battle is like a symphony. I can just feel the give and take, where everything is flowing."
