Frumpy Day

[Molly McFly]

Molly was in the laundry room, frowning as she crammed far too much than could possibly fit into one of the machines.

[Emilie]

Emilie came in with her load of darks (so ya kno, everything) resting on her hip and forced back a frown.

Walking up behind her room mate she comments. " That's not good for the washer or your things roomie."

[Molly McFly]

"It'll be fine, I'm sure. Just a little more elbow grease..."

[Emilie]

Emilie shrugged not one to argue. She preferred to be 'cool senpai', sitting back and waiting until someone completely cocked up before she swooped in to save the day. In her opinion, it was the only way some people learned.

After dumping her modestly sized pile of laundry into an open washer, she sat down and opened a math textbook.

[Molly McFly]

"Math, huh?"

[Emilie]

"Yep. I suck big time. Gotta cram if I want headmistress to think I am taking her advice seriously. Other I will definitely fail."

[Molly McFly]

"Oh, the headmistress herself came and talked to you? Ugh, sorry to hear about that."

[Emilie]

"She called me to the office to talk about bidness and such. Said something about being more academic. I dunno I spaced it off but in general I find that people on grants don't get to stay in school of they don't at least pass."

[Molly McFly]

"Yeah, but you haven't been here that long. Surprised they'd be jumping on you so quickly."

[Emilie]

"Always been a special case. Guess this isn't any different." She tilted her head at her roommate. " How you doin'? Good?"

[Molly McFly]

"Eh, I seem to keep running into that rich kid every step I go. I think he's stalking me."

[Emilie]

"Which one?"

[Molly McFly]

"You know, Plantsy McLordington. Shane."

[Emilie]

"Bathroom kid?" She stated, vaguely remembering his name being passed after the incident.

"Does he like you or sommat?"

[Molly McFly]

"We went on what sociologists are STILL considering the least interesting date mankind has ever experienced."

[Emilie]

"Awww. Mebbe he just wants a second chance to prove he isn't milquetoast?" Emilie offered, using one of those slightly antiquated words she seemed fond of.

[Molly McFly]

"He'd have to stop thinking of himself as the center of the universe first, I'm afraid."

[Emilie]

"Rich kid? Not likely." She laughed. " Not unless you can convince him you are anyways."

[Molly McFly]

"Noooo thank you. I don't need that kind of attention."

[Emilie]

"Everybody needs some of that kind of attention.

Admittedly maybe not from Shane though." She laughed, still not looking up from her book.

[Molly McFly]

"Nah. I like to think of myself as more of a facilitator."

[Emilie]

"How do you mean?"

[Molly McFly]

"I don't need to be the life of the party--I just want to be the one who provided the party to begin with."

[Emilie]

"So you don't wanna be the focus of your love life as long as you have one?"

[Molly McFly]

"Yeah, not interested in a love life with someone like Shane, thankyouverymuch."

[Emilie]

"Not talking about Shane anymore though, are we?"

[Molly McFly]

"What do you mean?"

[Emilie]

"I mean literally everyone should expect to be the 'life of the party' as you put it, in their relationship as far as the other member of that relationship is concerned. Even if that other person isn't Shane."

[Molly McFly]

"Nah, that's kind of a shitty attitude to take. You shouldn't try to be the most important person in a relationship; it should be a partnership. Otherwise, you're just an attention whore."

[Emilie]

Emilie shrugged, then tilted her math book like it was a hidden image magazine and math would make more sense this way.
