Room 106 - Proper Procedures

"He just arrived. I'm sure you can work out an arrangement that works for everybody involved."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Our first meeting didn't exactly go well. I thought he broke in and threw him out."

[Ashlie Minamida]

"To me that sounds like you owe your roommate an apology."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Yeah, it... wasn't my best moment. Though in my defense, he showed up early and I caught him dismantling my property."

[Ashlie Minamida]

"He did show up before his scheduled arrival or you would have been informed. I'm certain you'll be able to work out the misunderstanding."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"I hope so. I feel bad about how we met. Besides, I'd rather not burn out from the added stress of a roommate feud."

[Ashlie Minamida]

"Then I would recommend not throwing him out of his room." she smirks slightly and starts walking again.

[Toshiro Narumi]

He headed inside and took a quiet, deep breath.

"Hey Cam... umm... can we talk a minute?"

[Cam Beckett]

"That's a very short time for a conversation."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Not literally. I just want to put our... unfortunate... first impressions of each other behind us. I'm sorry I overreacted and threw you out. I was tired and stressed out and didn't handle the situation appropriately."

[Cam Beckett]

"Got that right, fin-breath."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Nobody told me you were coming, so I," he began defensively, but deflated, "... nevermind."

"I'm an engineering guy too, so I won't tinker while you sleep if you don't while I sleep. Deal?"

[Cam Beckett]

"You're an engineering guy? What do you engineer?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Mostly electronics and robots so far. I haven't been in the hypertech program long enough to really stretch my wings... fins? Whatever."

"Though there was that accidental time machine," he mused.

[Cam Beckett]

"Huh. OK," Cam said, turning back to his work.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Yeah. A bunch of Nazis had..." he began excitedly.

"Wait what? Dude. Time machine. How do you not want details?"

[Cam Beckett]

"Do you still have the time machine?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Well... no. It burned out and we had to cannibalize it to build... another time machine, actually. We dismantled that too so nobody ended up in the 31st century."

[Cam Beckett]

"So, why should I get excited about something you don't have anymore?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Scientific curiosity?"

[Cam Beckett]

"Nope. Try again."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Anyone ever tell you that you're a tough audience?" he asked, disappointed he couldn't share his adventure story.

"Not a social person. Got it. I'll just... be quiet then."

"Good luck with that! It's an interesting hobby."

Tosh raised a brow in a silent "Really now?"

Cam just continued to work, as if he was alone in the space.

He seemed more at ease like that.
