Room 118: Antigonish

Postby Altamira Vazquez » Wed Jan 18, 2017 9:14 pm

Mira cautiously headed up to what she was told was her room. She wasn't sure how much she'd be in said room, but she figured she might as well introduce herself and see what was going on...

Alex was in the room, standing in the center of the room on her tiptoes. Her eyes were closed in concentration.

C'mon...

Slowly and with great difficulty, she lifted about half an inch off the ground.

Mira poked her head through the door -- literally, through the door, without knocking or, uh, opening it -- and saw her new roommate hovering.

"Oh my!" she said, in surprise.

After the initial surprise, a sudden sense of deeply-rooted shame floods Alex. She tries to turn away from Altamira to hide her face, but only manages to rotate slightly in mid-air before wobbling and collapsing to the ground.

Alex winces, "ow..."

"Well, I'm not really a normal telepath...I can't really see what you're thinking. It's just more like I'm there in your field of vision and whatnot, without actually, like, being there..."

As Alex's mind floated to slashfic -- and rather racier parts of the stories -- Mira's posture shifted as well. She leaned up against the doorframe and stretched out a little bit, trying to avoid eyecontact with Alex.

"Something like that. It's the...subconscious thoughts and feelings of people around me. If they're grumpy, I become grumpier. If they're thinking about a movie star, I look a bit more like that star. If they're worried about being sick, I'll look paler and more frail. I'm always...always me, but flavored by the thoughts of those around me."

With her panic abating, Alex returned to feeling a sense of concern for her roommate.
