I2DT: This Uncommon Clay

Built on the Braddock Estate not far from the Manor, these were constructed for the university's benefit to help house the student population.

Miriam's avatar twists and turns as the shroud blurs the line between fabric and shadows, swirling around the box and seeping into the cracks opened by Sam.

It was quite more than that.

A burst of red energy shot out of the box--roughly at the same point Miriam went in. It swirled up to the sky, creating an impressively twirling vortex with winds, as the red spread across the previously blank space.

In the distance, a forest started to appear. At least, presumably it was a forest. The fluffy trees were not the most intimidating things in the known universe.

The red energy also spiraled into SavageWill, who smiled as he glowed. He also sank into the clay a bit, as he became tangible.

"As I said, it was a long time ago. And it wasn't really here, now was it?

We come from a different place. A different time. A different you. We knew you for many years. You helped shape us into the person we once were.

That's what you do, though, isn't it? You run people through the ringer, hold them to the fire and spin them, and, if they have the mettle, transform them into something more...palatable. Through your power are warriors forged."

The Warrior nodded. "But without the forge, we stay inert. Lumps of metal.

Or clay, in our case.

You took us in, aimless and feckless. You helped develop the skills you saw fit, and helps us discard what was unnecessary and unwanted. You never asked for anything but our respect in return.

"All of you," X-Wil clarified. "I am the General of the Morrigan."

"And I'm the Adviser of the Morrigan. Different strokes, different folks, right? Sometimes you need a weapon, and sometimes you need a shoulder to rest on. We're very flexible, as I'm sure you can see."

"Together, we were proud to be the Morrigan's Champion. And, when necessary, more than that,"

There's a strange squelching sound, followed by a chunk of clay being blown upwards by an a flickering light and scattered about the landscape. Inside the whole Miriam's avatar is desperately trying to claw her way out of the sinkhole, finally managing to pull herself out and onto an undisturbed patch of clay where she lies on her back for a moment, weakly wiping bits off clay off her masks.
