"You'll see. It'll be so tremendous, I'll...uh, I'll...gain the Freshman Fifteen!"

“Thankfully, Gold is very slimming!” Bear replied, grinning.

"You say that, but without proper reinforcements, it can actually be something of a nightmare."

“I’m sure you’ve become pretty knowledgeable in your goldness.”

"No no, I literally mean reinforcements. Gold is dense."

“Ah.. are you going to be ok? Do we need to let the housemaster arrange for some.. stronger furniture?”

"I...believe Nika included that in the negotiations to arrive?" she asked, looking over at Nika for confirmation.

"Yes, they were very forthcoming in making sure mutation-specific accomodations are provided."

“Looks like you can settle right in, then!”

Bear smiled as she began unpacking her backpack, pulling out her quite worn and in need of dry cleaning X-Men uniform.

"What is...what is that?" Katarina said, leaning back in surprise.

“My uniform?” Bear asked.

“I wore it quite a bit while I was out in the Arctic.”

"It has....definitely seen it's fair share of action," she said, diplomatically.

"And that's why they make dress uniforms." Nika says with a different tone of diplomacy, namely politely hiding her amusement and failing at least a little.

“Oh, it’ll be fine. A little dry cleaning, a couple patches, some new stitching, and it’ll at least be ready for more field work. I’m not sure I’d know what to do with a dress uniform, to be honest.”

She continued digging into her pack, removing a ziploc bag about half full of what appeared to be dried, smoked meat, a first aid kit, and some baseballs.

"You travel fairly light, do you? Is that your only bag?"

Bear grinned.

“Not my only bag, but the only one I brought with me. It had everything I needed.”

"What are the...balls for?"

“They’re for throwing.” She said, smiling.

"Is that what you do? You're a...sportsster?"

“I’ve never heard that term before, but it fits!”

Bear smiled, clearly appropriating the term for her own use.

“Yep, I throw things better than just about anyone. It’s what I do.”
