Room 116 - An Audience With The Phantom Queen

There's some fumbling with the door and Tereza lets herself into the room. In one hand is a tiny Will and her clothes are in the other. She's shifted and it would be easy to sense the lingering pain of some bumps and bruises that have almost completely healed.

Sam looks up from her reading, blinking in confusion.

"Is... everything alright?"

Tereza sets tiny Will down on Sam's desk in front of her. "Ask him," she growls, although everything she says in this form is a growl.

Will very carefully looked...well, pretty much anywhere but up at Sam, becoming very interested in the pile of the carpet and the various bric-a-brac that lay around the room.

"I'm fairly certain a fight takes more than one involved," Will said, carefully. "I see you're healing up nicely..."

"Hiding. In mop closet," Tereza interrupts, crossing her arms. "Has things to tell you."

"I'm fine, Will. They just wanted to observe me overnight."

"And if you've something to say, perhaps you should."

"I don't, particularly, other than a sincere apology for my actions in the Danger Room, and a promise that they won't happen again..." he dodged.

Tereza snorts, "More than that. You don't say, I will."

"My...behavior in the simulation. My attempts to...my attempts to stop you from realizing the truth. My cooperating with Conduit."

"Long story from earlier. About his world." Raising eyebrows when you really don't have them doesn't quite have the same effect.

"Very long story, but I'll cut to the point.

I failed. I failed you and I failed me and I failed everyone. Is that enough, Tereza?" he asked, glancing/glaring up at her.

"The list is extensive, but the underlying answer is myself. I did not live up to my own standards."

"They why? Right, the why.

Because I'm a selfish fucking bastard who makes a poor excuse for a human being, who would try to hog you for myself hurting both you and Tereza in the process," he spat out, glaring at Tereza and pointedly not looking at Sam.

Tereza snorts. There's way more to his story and he's being a self-martyring ass and leaving out a lot. "Not that crazy."

Tereza takes a step towards him and catches herself. She settles for glaring at him. "Tell. Her. Told. Me."

"You two normally seem to get along fine."

He's doing this clam-act in some twisted form of penance. He thinks I should be mad at him for trying to be happy with you. He knew something was wrong, but he wanted to be happy. I'm not mad about that. Hell, I can't say I wouldn't do the same. He's in love with you and thinks he needs to deny himself because I got there first. I told him it was okay and we could all talk about it, but apparently he's decided to keep hanging on that cross. That's what I'm mad about. Forming that much coherent thought, as upset as the wolf was, apparently took its toll on Tereza and she snapped her jaws in frustration.

"...I can't make you talk, Will."

"Even if I was at my best right now, I wouldn't."

"Just... when you're ready, can you trust me? Don't try to make the decision for me as to how I should feel. I think we ought to both be past that."

"I'm afraid this one is mostly about me and those of us not present in this room, but I'll keep that in mind..." he said, hopping down from the desk with an eye on Tereza, to see if she would make a move to stop him.

Tereza glowers at him, but makes a dismissive gesture. Sam seems to have temporarily dismissed the matter so she's not inclined to force the issue... for now. She mutters something that gets lost in the growling, but it's obvious she's angry.

And, so, Will trudged out of the room. You didn't have to be a telepath to see the dark storm clouds over his head, but it probably helped!

Tereza shrugs, frustration rolling off her. Nothing to be done about it now. Can't make him be good to himself as much as I'd like to. Should have slammed him into the bar like he wanted me to.

Tereza cracks her neck and then there’s more cracking sounds as she shifts back. “I think showing up as a wolf would be more problematic than lack of clothes.” She winces a bit once the shift is done.
