Room 107: Memory is the diary we all carry about with us

He could feel he was restrained in some fashion but he was fine with that, he could be very patient when he needed to be. Temporarily blinded, he could hear high heels coming towards him and turns his head in the direction of the sound with a smile on his face.

He was smiling at the time, but recalling this made him terrified despite his body showing completely different emotions. He thought he should run now, but he couldn't, because he hadn't because he couldn't.

He knows when he had experienced this, the name he called out next was Amber's, so he is confused when the words that come out are-

"Madame?" He asked as whatever blocking his vision was ripped off his head.

"Wrong, Benson-Senpai!" Chisaki announced in all her fully decked out, multicolored splendor.

The absolute terror his body always associated with this memory forced him awake with a start and a choke.

The injection at the infirmary had made Basil high as a kite, but the subsequent medications just made him sleep all the time. Colette would make periodic check ins to make sure he was alright, but Basil's obvious distaste about being babied meant that she would eventually leave him be once he'd done the necessary activities of being a human such as eating and drinking, washing up and other disgusting things slime women aren't required to do.

But as he got better the sleep was less deep and more filled with terrifying things he would prefer not to have to think about anymore. Things his waking mind had been plagued with such as the... Was it an attack on the school? He supposed it must have been.

He sighed and rolled onto his back to stare at the ceiling, expecting he would nod off again shortly.

Probably a few moments before Basil was just about to nod off, the door to his room made a clicking sound before swinging open, a small pink figure slipping almost noiselessly into the room. Colette had been given the task of administering Basil's medication regularly, as well as seeing to any other needs he might have, and for this reason Basil had given her a key to his and Shane's room. She usually waited for Basil to wake before giving his medicine, though sometimes she had to rouse him so that she could tend to him before going to class or returning to her room for the night - if she did that. Often times she would stay up, taking naps in a nearby chair or a bucket; something told her that Shane would likely not have approved of finding her asleep in her red latex sleepwear. She carried her tablet with her with the intent of working on a paper for a bit until her boyfriend rose, setting the device down on Basil's desk before approaching his bedside to check on him.

His eyes fluttered open quickly.

"Hello Madame."

Colette gave a little start, placing a hand upon her chest before she smiled down at her patient. "Hello Basil sweetheart. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine." He replied in his usual British fashion, bringing his bandaged right hand up to pull at the edges of the dressing with his left and peek at his stitches.

"Ah ah ah". Colette lightly scolded Basil as he messed around with his bandages. "It is not yet time to change zose. It is time instead for your medication." Colette sat herself on the edge of Basil's bed, which made the mattress sink a fair bit. After a pause she reached out and placed the back of her hand against his forehead.

"Mm, you are looking a little pale, and feel warm. I hope zat you are not coming down with a fever, you feel very clammy."

"I'm British, I'm always pale." He countered. " There's no Saint-Tropez here love, only the cold clutches of the River Blackwater fed by the Atlantic."

He didn't offer a long winded explanation of the other things, but he did kick off his blankets a bit to let himself breathe better.

"I suppose to zat it is difficult for one to tan when one is transparent, yes? Oh, but zat is only mental." Colette's theory was quickly quashed, the girl measuring out Basil's pills and putting the excess back into their bottle.

"How do you feel Basil? Are you ready for a little wash after zis?" She asked as she brought the pills toward his lips, glass of water at the ready from his bedside table.

Basil intended to take his meds without complaint, though he sighed at the washing up.

"If I must..." He pointedly ignored the question about how he felt.

"You do not HAVE to. But sometimes it can make you feel better and help you sleep. You do not want to wind up feeling like me, do you?" She joked at her own expense.

Basil smirked.

"I figured you worked like a cat: self cleaning unless particularly filthy."

"Zat is... not entirely inaccurate. Are you saying zat you would prefer to take a cat baz instead?" Colette's goo hair parted a bit as two large pink cat ears formed atop her head.

It wasn't until he was visible that the injustice Basil's 'condition played up him personally. In what would normally be a long, awkward pause in a conversation, Colette watched a gamut of emotions pass over his face, starting at looking like a kid at Christmas, melding into confusion, then hesitation, and lastly, some kind of sad resignation.

"Not sure I did anything to deserve that love, so we'll just have to stick to normal 'rag on stick' methods."

Colette gave Basil a disapproving stare.

"Basil, answer somezing for me; do you zink zat I am a woman of poor taste and judgement?"

"No." He answered immediately. " Quite the opposite."

"If zis is ze case, zen how can you be unworzy of my doting affection? If I have such good taste, do you zink perhaps zat zis maybe applies to ze man I choose to adore more zan anyone else in ze world? Do you suspect perhaps zat I have fallen for you for some ulterior motive?"

Basil furrowed his brow and clammed up stubbornly like a little boy.

"No." He replied, pouting.

Colette reached out and gave Basil's nose a little poke. "Good, because zere is not any. You are a handsome, sweet, and kind young man Basil Benson. One of your few negative traits is zat you refuse to believe zis. So I will have to work hard to convince you of zis, even if I have to take a page from Stephen King to do so." There was nothing like a reference to Misery to make a semi-bedridden young man feel more comfortable and safe.

She seemed to have distracted him for a moment.

Colette didn't reply right away. She paused before letting herself fall over on her side over Basil's stomach and chest, and effectively pinning him in place.

"Alright, I am listening."

Basil smirked as her weight shifted on top of him.

"Well, that's a start." He sighed.

"I just meant I got injured for no reason at all. Nothing was gained by it and now you have to spend all your free time babying me."

"Yes, poor me, having an excuse to be in the boy's dormitories after curfew." Colette raised a hand to lazily play with some of Basil's hair. "You do not know zat nozing was gained by what you did. Someone could have gotten seriously hurt or worse had you not acted ze way you did. Would you razer spend your time blaming yourself for zat if it had occurred?"

Colette put a finger to her lips in thought. "Hmm... a haircut perhaps? I do not know, no one has been foolish enough to oppose my will in such a way. But I am certain zat I will zink of an appropriate form of punishment."

"Untrue. Only sixty percent of me is butt." Colette smiled, shifting herself to snuggle a little closer.

Basil sighed and allowed her to snuggle up at her will, though his hands didn't go groping for purchase as they normally would thanks to the stitches. One arm rested above his head, the other lazily thrown across her back. He was quiet for several moments, his face going through several complex emotions again before settling on a weird one, somewhere between guilt and resignation.

"I know you're just trying to be a good girlfriend, but If i'm being perfectly honest I'm more likely to respond to sexy punishments than doting, motherly behavior.

I already have a mother and while she's not that great at her job, I don't really need a second one. If anything, that type of affection is off-putting...

Maybe because I don't understand it I guess..."

Colette isn't really one that pushes away well, she just sort of... squishes.

"Well ozer zan zat I do not know how I am being too mozerly. I cannot spank your tush while I am bandaging your hands."

"It's just....

The worrying... and the caretaking...

Isn't that stuff moms do?" As Basil had said previously, he had no idea. He just kind of assumed based off it was stuff his grandma did for him, and that's like a mom once removed.
