"Aye, and apparently he's as tangled up with me as he is with Viv's mum."

"That's... not good. Tangled up how?"

"Apparently we all knew each other, back when we were... wearing much less. There was a disagreement, and she banished him by my request."

"Great, an long-lived being with a grudge. Cause that's never a problem." She munches thoughtfully for a moment, "We all saw the note, but how do we know this has anything to do with Viv and her mum?"

"It's the only way that makes sense, aye? She's the only 'daughter' that would be likely to see that. The fae know by now she's looking for her mum."

"They're the ones who ordered her to do it based on what she said," Tereza says with a nod. "But could this guy be an opportunist who happens to know she is? He could be using it to settle old scores and make it look like it's them."

"...okay, okay." She sighs.

"Maybe, just maybe this is a me thing and only a me thing. Certainly enough of those out there."

"I'm just thinking we should be prepared for everything. Either there's a new player on the field or they've hired help. Is there another possibility I'm missing?"

"No, I'm just... in a bad mood after having to crawl through an ex-lover's brain."

Tereza raises an eyebrow and her chewing slows down, "Seriously?"

"Apparently. I thought she was just saying it to rattle me when we were making the pact, but now I've seen it."

"Well, I mean..." A long pause. "That wasn't really you though, was it?"

"You know, I'm not exactly sure where that line is. There's a lot about this that I don't quite understand."

Tereza shrugs, "Fair enough. I mean, she's 'ex' for a reason and you're ours now, so water under the bridge and all that."

"So who is this person?" Gemma says from somewhere behind Sam.

"We have the pseudonym she knew him by, Robert Berg. Though that's really just him being too clever by half. It's a pun for 'Red Crow.'"

"Someone styling themselves as 'Bodb Derg'. That takes some serious balls to use that name."

"Maybe I'm missing the context here? I only know it as a tune for folk dancing."

Gemma blinks for a second. "Oh, right, you wouldn't know." She moves into the room and leans up against one of the wall, "Bodb Derg is... or was... the son of the Dagda and the Morrigan. There were rumors among..." She pauses and rubs her throat for a second. "... among my... people that there were mortal heroes who were opposing him, but no one across the veil has heard from the man himself in ages. At least not that I'm aware. To take that name for your own would invite all manner of evil. I wouldn't want to be whoever this is."

"Oh, bloody hell. That does make it personal."

"Can I just say how damned frustrating it is that I can't remember this shite?"

Tereza munches her jerky. "No one expects you to, love. Besides, from what Gemma said, it's probably not even the same guy. Just some person who decided to use the name. I mean, they made a board game based on Jumanji, so someone taking on some old boogeyman's name isn't that unheard of. Certainly wouldn't be the first time."

"So best-case scenario, we're not dealing with my disgruntled son, we're just dealing with the disgruntled ex-lover of my ex-lover, who is pretending to be my disgruntled son but is still an ancient sorcerer of considerable skill."

"Lovely."

"Well, when you put it like that, sure it sounds bad."

"It's too early in the day to start drinking."

"Maybe you need to go play some drums?"

"What we need to do is find this bastard before he nails someone else to the floor."

"The Green Knight may know how to find him. If he is the real deal that is," Gemma adds, in some vague attempt to be helpful, "and assuming the rumors are true."

“And assuming he can be readily located. The world has become substantially larger since the last time.”

"...the Green Knight could be a lead to your mum, right? Or vice versa?"

Vivienne thought quietly. "I believe so. Mother told me he was the guardian of the Isle, to give him respect should I ever encounter him while I was here. She knew of him, it would be a reasonable conclusion that he would be at least aware of her."

"I'm not sure how we'd go about finding him though," Gemma says, "He's not meant to be easy to find."

"Call the ball then, Viv. We at least have leads on your mum, but we've got to do something."

"We move forward and find her first with the knowledge he is likely watching and wants her too."

"I would guess sooner rather than later would be good then," Tereza says, "We should probably put together a group. Cause if he comes after us, we want help to be right there."

"Right. Will and Sean are good. Should probably check up and make sure Animal Control doesn't get called on Shari, too."

"I heard there was a new student who is a friend of hers. Maybe you can find him and see if he knows where she'd be? I think his name was Paisley or Ainsley or something like that. In the meantime, I'll talk to some of the X-men, see who would be interested in lending a hand."

"Have anybody in mind? I get the feeling this is still off the books."

"Do you want to use the Blackbird? If so, it'll have to be on the books."

"I mean, I wouldn't turn down the bloody Blackbird, but we might need to keep a lower profile."

"You're talking about driving to three different locations in Wales. Remote locations, according to Viv. We could be gone for a while and we'll be missed. It's your mission, but the Blackbird would make checking them out faster. If you want, I can talk to Laura and see if we can use it 'unofficially', but Ashlie's going to notice either way."
