Laying in the dim lights of the room was Basil Oliver Benson. Resting on top of Basil Oliver Benson was Colette Astrid Madeliene Rosenhof, the sentient gelatinous being whom either did or did not call herself his girlfriend depending on her mood that week. Inside of Basil Oliver Benson's bloodstream was cocktail of post coital hormones, which in turn lead to Basil Oliver Benson's brain to worrying thoughts of loneliness despite being literally draped in a naked woman.

This lead to Basil Oliver Benson giving the ceiling the thousand yard stare. While he was visible. Which he wasn't aware of.

Colette was soaking up Basil's body heat like a lizard laying upon a hot rock, little bubbles of darker matter moving around within her naked form in a manner similar to a living lavalamp. Her hair was a mostly undefined blob, as were some of her extremities below the blanket, allowing her to hold and surround Basil that much more closely. She looked up with a contented little sigh, watching the handsome face that only so recently she'd only seen in photographs and mirrors, but was becoming more and more common.

"Is somezing on your mind, Basil?"

"My thoughts right now are selfish and I shouldn't share them." He explained. "Some peoples thoughts can be like that."

"Mm, we can all be a little selfish at times. I know zat I certainly can be. Zough if you are worried zat I may become upset wiz you... I really have been working on being more understanding and not jumping to conclusions."

Of course, she wasn't intentionally trying to guilt trip him. But it was difficult to say something like that without somehow implying it.

Basil blinked a few times in rapid succession, his head rolling to the side to finally break his hard stare at the ceiling.

"I've just been concerned about what I'm going to do with myself when I've become boring for you.

But that's really more my problem than yours."

Colette hugged Basil a little more tight, resting her head on his chest and slipping in under his arm.

"I do not zink you are boring. Shari can go... get stuffed. What does she know? She is not even from zis planet." She had that pouty tone in her voice that suggested she was miffed that someone had talked to Basil in such a way as to upset him like this.

Basil felt like he was perhaps being too subtle with what he was thinking about in an attempt to spare Colette's sensitivities. He knew Colette's first experience was with him, and he was trying his best not to be uncouth. Subtly seemed to be failing him however, and it was time for a more direct approach.

Basil snuggled his arm a little tighter against her, hoping to make certain she felt secure during the blunt question.

"... Have you ever fantasized about being with a woman?"

Basil was quiet for just long enough for it to start to get awkward. He tried to clear away an emotional response Colette had never seen before with a hard swallow, but it didn't work.

Basil was blushing.

Colette's grin grew wider, treated to a new sight. Basil's invisibility was tightly linked to his emotions so for him to be visible to her when he was feeling something that made other people wish they could disappear, well it made her feel confident that he was getting a better handle on his powers.

"I cannot say zat I blame you. Women are so soft, the move so gracefully, they have such lovely shapes, and smells, and zeir voices are so sweet. For a time zat is what I wanted in a partner, to hold zem closer and closer for longer and longer. And zen I came to a realization - I could be even closer to ze zings zat I loved, by being zose same zings. Zat is when I knew who I wished to be. And by being me, it gave me a new point of view, near insight. It allowed me to see and appreciate many of ze lovely qualities exhibited by a gentleman like yourself, zat are so different from my own." To punctuate her point she pressed her pink lips to Basil's reddened cheek.

Basil accepted her kiss of course but he was thinking again, evident in the fact he closed the eye on the side she pecked upon impact and his lips screwed up a bit skeptically.

He was thinking women could be lots more things if they wanted, very different things indeed. But he decided to shelve that thought. No sense in bringing it up and giving her a identity complex as bad as his own.

"Soooooo..... No Utena Tenjous in your future then?"

Something about her statements made Basil seem much more at ease about his situation. He settled into his spot, for once contented about how an honest conversation between them went.

Colette let out a little squeal followed by a giggle. Not that Basil would really have hurt her had he bitten hard. Still she grabbed for a pillow and bapped the side of his head with it.
