Paging Ms. Crusek.

Basil came around to check on Haley, whom he hadn't heard from in awhile. It was starting to get concerning.

A brisk knock on her door was how he announced his presence.

Haley sighed at the knock and set down her phone, earbuds still in, some sort of video continuing to play on the device. "It's open."

She probably should have put on pants, but she didn't really care and she was under a pile of blankets on her bed anyway.

The invisible man slipped into the room without greeting and if he was allowed to would sidle up to the edge of her bed and loom over her.

He was probably making some kind of disappointed face, but who could tell.

"He couldn't have possibly been *that* good."

“He was pretty good,” she replied with a sigh as she finally pulled out her ear buds.

“I’m mostly just upset that I’m a danger to everyone around me. That I don’t have better control.”

“....it also doesn’t help that he replaced me like. The next day.”

" Which is only evidence to my case." Basil replied, sitting down on the bed next to her.

"When the last one and I had to go our separate ways, even my terrible self had to be scrapped off the floor to attend my own birthday party.

I was still texting her when I met Colette. " Basil paused.

" Don't tell her I told you that.

Point is even if it was your doing, decent men don't replace women overnight, even shit women. Which you are not."

“Okay, so he’s a toolshed. Doesn’t change the fact I could have killed him. Could still kill anyone here. With my brain. Because I’m pissed off.”

"Mmmmm, I suppose toolsheds have just as much right to decline a lobotomy as the rest of us." He replied in his dry humour fashion.

"You'll get beyond this darling, it's just a bump in the road." He added in a much kinder, more sympathetic tone than he had used discussing Toshiro.

You want a hug?" He asked. That was pretty much his go to fix it.

“I’m...not wearing any pants under this blanket. I don’t want to get you in trouble.

Basil was clearly staring at this point, and slowly stood up, chuckling.

"Well, we can't go have a fun time until you put on your pants... and trousers.

I'll go hide in the bathroom until you've rectified this situation." He added, doing so.

“That’s normally my line but in reverse,” she smirked, waiting for the door to close before flipping the covers off of her legs and snatching the pair of flannel pajama pants she’d floated across the room with her TK and stepping into them.

“Okay. No longer Donald Ducking it.”

Basil came out to stare at her sleep pants.

"Well... We won't be getting out of the car I suppose, if that's what you want to wear on our adventure."

“We’re going on an adventure?” She asked, almost suppressing a groan about being forced out of bed.

"Of course. Did you think I was going to roll around on the floor to bemoan the loss of Sharkboy with you?" He asked with a hint of humour in his voice.

Haley sighed and looked in the mirror hanging on her wall. "Alright. Back in the bathroom, I'll actually change."

She turned and busied herself with changing, not actually waiting for him to leave before stepping out of her clothes and changing into a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt.

"Alright. Where are we going?"

Basil really didn't have the time to get to the bathroom before things started coming off, and settled on having his back turned, his eyes on the ground.

"Just for a little drive, but I think you'll enjoy it."
