"It can be both." she points out.

"Well, I told you; he's all the worst bits of me stripped and recompiled. I suppose that's not exactly going to be happy fun-times."

"Hence taking him along for crime-busting!" she says, holding up the USB stick. "I gotta try this out. See you around, Claymo!"

Claymo sighed. "Don't spread that around, k?"

"Then come up with something you like." she smirks over her shoulder as she heads out the door.

And heads straight for the supply-closet not bothering to knock because, come on, it's a closet.

After opening the closet and turning on the light, Nailah would find Will leaning up against the back wall, next to a couple of mops, his eyes closed. The lights running up and down his side were pulsing a light blue, instead of the 'normal' green color -- sleep mode?

"Hey, Will! You snoozin'?" she asks loudly, knocking on the open door.

"Nnng! Snrrrk..." Will said, blinking his eyes as he jolted back up, bashing his head on the shelf above him.

"Whazzat? Nailah?"

Nailah winces a little in sympathy. "Hey, sorry, didn't mean to startle ya. How do you feel about stopping crime and protecting the citizens?"

"You mean, like, in general? It's a good thing -- if nobody stopped crime, then, like...a lot of crime would happen. And that's bad."

"I meant personally. I could use an ultimate toolkit."

"An...ultimate toolkit? I mean, I'm happy to help, but I'm not really that much use in a fight -- you saw what happened in the ring," Will said, puzzled, as he moved some of the various bits of tools out of the way to try to get out of the closet. "You need, like, bandages and things for after the fight?"

"I mean, probably. I tend to get hurt a bunch. But other stuff too. Weapons, hookshots, zip-ties, breathing mask maybe, tear gas. You know, the works!"

"I mean, I can do all those things, but if they're just going to lead you into getting punched more, I probably shouldn't," Will said, hemming and hawing. "Getting banged up isn't ideal, you know? Wouldn't you be happier just taking it a little bit easy? We could go catch a movie or play a board game or something. I know a bunch of great board games -- some that probably haven't been printed here, yet!"

"I mean, we should do that for sure, but also." she says, raising one index finger before poking Will in the approximate location of his bellybutton with the business end of the USB stick.

"Also whaaaaaaaa00101001101101010!" Will cried out as Nailah booped him with the USB stick.

The lights on his side started flashing green, extraordinarily fast, as data was transferred from the USB into Will's computerized brain. His eyes, too flashed rapidly, as the code was absorbed into him.

The USB clattered to the ground as Will coughed and the lights slowed to normal.

"Hey! What was that?"

"Computer stuff? Look, what's important is that you follow me through the dark, through the door, through where no one's been before!" she segues into a heroic proclamation, striking a pose with the USB stick held straight up into the air.

"Follow you wheeeeeeeeeeeeawk!"

As Nailah spoke the trigger phrase, Will twisted and shifted. His legs shot up to meet the rest of his torso, leaving him hanging in midair for a second as he flapped his arms comically to try to maintain his balance, before tumbling to the floor of the closet as gravity kicked in once again, knocking over a bucket and some mops as he fell. His hair turned a light pink color and spread out over his rapidly shifting frame, growing out and fluffing it's way down as he went. His arms sprouted lost fingers, but sprouted feathers, turning into a pair of wings, with his extra mass being absorped into a fairly rotund belly. His protests vanished as a beak pushed it's way out of his face, his ears sliding up and floofing out as they approached the top of his head.

The fluffy pink owl-cat, with a rose-gold ankh emblazoned on it's stomach, flapped up a bit awkwardly from the ground, squawking at Nailah.

Will squaked some more at Nailah, flapping out and flying towards her, to get out of the closet.

He perched on Nailah's shoulder, continuing to squawk at her, flapping his wings.

"Squaaaawk," Will said, sounding maybe a little sarcastic? Who knows, it was a bird. Either way, it did stop flapping it's wings so much, settling down and resting on Nailah's shoulder.

"Perfect. Now come on, let's see what you can do." she says, closing the closet and heading out of the dorms.
