Will stood in Sam and Tereza's dorm room, frowning.

He stretched one arm out to one wall and paced off the length of the bed. Taking a black marker, he marked the length on his arm, and frowned again.

He tried again from the other wall, making another mark, shaking his head. "Just not designed for three people," he muttered, crouching down by the dresser to get a better sightline.

About 15 minutes later, Will had finished pushing the two dressers in the room next to one another, frowning again. There was room for two and a half, maybe two-and-three-quarters dressers along the wall. Not three. Not unless they got rid of one of the two beds pressed up against one another, but that was the original problem they were trying to solve.

He leaned up against a shelf, tapping his teeth.

Basil had heard a bit of shuffling about when he passed the first time and when he passed again the sound had stopped, but the door was slightly ajar.

Which was enough for the nosey Brit to go socially busting through it like so much Kool-Aid man.


"Sam? You need any help in there?" He asked to the barely cracked door.

"Sam's not in," Will called back. "Can I take a message?"

"Oh, no thank you. I just thought offer to help her move stuff around or whatever it is you're doing in there."

Then there was a long pause.

" Come to think of it, what are you doing in there?"

"I'm moving their stuff around and whatever it is I'm doing in here.

They're thinking about trying to fit three people in this room. I'm not convinced it's possible, unless we staple one of them to the ceiling."

"Jesus Christ. As if we weren't all packed in enough. It's like headmistress Mayweather thinks we can just store ourselves in the bloody closet like we're Alpha Platinum 9000s."

"There's nothing wrong with a closet if you're comfortable in there," Will hedged.

"I don't think any of the three would be comfortable in there."

"I feel like I've a friend who'd disagree with you there, but the closet in that scenario is less literal." He laughed.

"Mind if I come in and see what you've got going on? Maybe we can Tetris it out together."

"I wouldn't mind the help, no. I've puzzled and puzzled 'till my puzzler was sore."

The empty suit of the invisible man entered, carrying a laptop and some folders.

He stared at the two beds pushed together, and the dressers.

Basil wasn't the kind to assume things, but he also wasn't an idiot. He realized quickly he'd misassumed the situation entirely, but didn't comment on it.

"Well then... what's under the bed?" He asked, tilting his body a bit to see if he could tell.

There were two dressers; Will had been attempting to see if a third could possibly even fit.

"Monsters, if they're being traditional."

"The third could keep her clothes there, either in collapsible drawers or under bed storage designed with wheels. It'd be a small investment but if they're determined to all fit in here, somethings got to give, even if it's just the purse strings."

"Possible -- and if they're squeezing a third bed in here, that's more under-the-bed room to work with; albeit less floor space.

What they NEED is a Murphy bed, but that's not possible without, you know, renovations."

"Well, the headmistress has been known to make concessions for special needs cases.

Maybe if one is trying to be sneaky, one just doesn't tell headmistress why she wants a giant Murphy bed. Maybe she makes up a story about her shapeshifting requiring it.

It's not as if headmistress is telepathic herself."

"Now, if she was the right kind of shapeshifter, we wouldn't have a problem here. Zoop zoop zoop, you're six inches tall, loads of room.

But no, one is a giant wolf creature, another is three people in one which just multiplies the problem, and the third...

...OK, the third is fairly normal as far as these things go, but that's only a temporary situation from my understanding. If you, I and Collette were planning on sharing a room, we'd have to figure out what to do with all the extra space we'd be saving."

"No we wouldn't, because I would have already ordered a foosball table before either of you even had the opening to discuss it." He counterquipped.

"I could totally be a foosball goalie. Perhaps that's my true calling."

Basil giggled, delighted at the thought. When he did, he would become visible to Will.

"Too bad they don't hand out degrees in such lofty goals as they do for similar things. Like, say, library sciences." He replied, winking cheekily.

Did he know Will could see him?

"Hey. How did you do that?" Will asked.

"Do-" It took Basil a second to realize what he was asking.

"Ahh. I don't know. It just happens sometimes now.

I also don't know how I made you invisible either. That's the only time that's happened."

He looked a bit guilty in his reply, shrugging awkwardly.

"Speaking of which, I still owe you babe Collette a boon for helping me. Maybe not a "secretly rearrange your room so your other girlfriend can move in" boon, but something not withstanding."

"Let's hope not, if only because that means she's got a girlfriend I don't get to play with." He joked. He didn't see to be bothered by the idea too much.

"Seriously though, if it doesn't involve food I'd have a hard time coming up with something. She gets upset when I make a fuss."

"I like food. I could cook you guys something."

"She'd enjoy that, I'm sure. But we'll have to wait until after the upcoming holiday. We've been helping Jezabelle Sherlock plan out her Harry Potter fundraiser party for the Pride society and it's eating into our quiet time."

"I'm somewhat looking forward to that, though I'll have to quickly re-read a few of the books. I've never read them here, and there might be some differences."

" You mean you didn't get the bit about Snape's torrid love affair with Dumbledore and Filch?"

"I didn't. So, they're racier over here, are they?"

"Oh yes, thats why theres a children's and adult's version here."

Basil was a very good liar, he face was so genuine.

"Man, that is crazy. Which one are we using for the party?"

"Oh, the children's of course. I mean Jez wouldn't want to make anyone uncomfortable in Snape's assless chaps."

Will narrowed his eyes. "You're putting me on."

Basil burst out laughing. It was not the reserved, sophisticated laugh of a posh West London gentleman one would expect, but a jovial full sort that was perhaps a bit too loud for some people.

" I so am mate!" He replied in a higher pitch than normal.

Will sighed and shook his head. "Geez, you cut could a guy a break, yeah? I'm not from around these parts. I wouldn't have all been surprised if you had shown up with your butt hanging out."

"Well statistically speaking we search the term spanking more than any other country..." He observed, still amused.

"... But my bottom is not anything worth public display."

"Not when it's invisible, at least.

I don't suppose a large number of tattoos would fix that?"

"I don't have any tattoos so I can't say for certain, but I'm not sure how psyched Madame would be over the phrase 'your hands here' everytime she leered at me.

Double so if it was completely disembodied and just floating there."

"Then the only logical answer is a spandex morphsuit. All the time."

"Is Green Man going to save my life, 'bro'?" Apparently Basil was familiar with American TV.

"Maybe you should pick a different color.

It's not easy, being green."
