The sounds of surf rock leaked into the hallway as Tosh fiddled with mechanical designs on his computer. Through Ennio, he had come up with an interesting idea that his curiosity insisted on exploring the viability of.

"Maybe if I include some pressure gauges..." he thought aloud.

As Franklin walked through the door, he was smacked by a wall of sound. He didn't recognize the genre, but the music had an uplifting and pleasant beat. The room's sole occupant was sitting at the square tempest of electricity that was a computer. "Pressure guages on what?"

Tosh cried out from being startled and hurriedly turned down the volume.

Turning his chair around, he said, "Sorry. You startled me. Guess I was too focused. Anyway, I'm just toying with hydraulics."

"You the new roommate?"

"I guess so." Franklin had never shared a room with someone before and he wasn't sure how to act.

"What application are you using them for?"

"An exo-suit for one of the forms I can shift into. A hydrokinetic humanoid ferret."

"My powers give my forms their own personalities, so you sorta have three roommates."

Did he just say ferret? Three roommates? This was going to be a challenge. Luckily it appeared they would have atleast one thing in common.

"What power outfit are you looking for? What materials are you using in the suit's construction? What is your power source?"

"I haven't even gotten that far yet, but probably lightweight materials. Mobility over armor, though I want some protection. As for the power source... it really depends too much on choices I haven't made yet... maybe an electroconversion engine my other other self can recharge."

"I haven't actually gotten around to measuring his potential output. Though I have determined it to be direct current as he isn't electrokinetic but electrogenic."

Franklin removed a glove and let his electricity flow across his hand. "I guess you can say I'm electrokinetic. My nervous system produces excess electricity. Through practice, I learned how to shift from Ac to DC and back."

"I've never tried throwing bolts, I never had a need for it. I can see outside electrical sources so maybe I can control them eventually. I primarily use this to keep my tech charged and for the occasional atm withdrawl."

"Sort of, I can see how strong the current is. I have learned to identify some voltages, but not many. I didn't have much reason to develop that much."

"You must be new to the whole mutant thing. I'm a shifter, which means my body can rearrange itself. Many shifters turn into animals or humanoid hybrids, and many of those develop additional personalities to cope. In my case, more than one thing with their own distinct abilities."

"Let me know if you think this is worthy of the Hypertech." Franklin dropped his bag in order to remove a trio of electronics. The first was a run of the mill laptop, that he he promptly set up on the nearest bed. As the device powered up, Franklin plugged in the Bluetooth eat bud that would allow the computer to discreetly read text to him. The last item was a larger than palm sized device of his own design. When plugged in to his laptop, the device emitted electrical impulses to create a 3 dimensional image that Franklin could feel.

It was this device that had allowed him to create the blueprint that appeared on the screen minutes later. "This is the tristatic amplifier, it essentially magnifies a defices electrical output by a factor of 3."

"Not yet." Franklin indicated the imager, "I had a hard enough time finding the components to build this. Parts were hard to find."
